Wiseguy: You are correct. The menu is correct, so it's bad when you watch what you think is the second-to-last episode, but it is actually the season finale. Then when you watch what you think is the season finale, you are watching the second-to-last episode and say, "Hey, why is it like this?"...
On the Season 9 set of the new series, the last two episodes were switched but the titles in the menu were not. So the season finale was placed as the second-to-last episode. I noticed a few reviews on Amazon that mentioned this.
I contacted Paramount via their social media and did not get any...
Mill Creek has acknowledged that a replacement program for Season 1 Disc 1 & 4 is in place (as mentioned by someone else in the MV Pre-order thread).
However, on Season 4's "Mirror Image" (Disc 4), there is no 2.0 audio when I play it on three separate players (Oppo and Panasonic) all with...
On Amazon, I see two versions of National Geographic's Brain Games: Season 6 on DVD, one released in 2015 (its cover is like the previous ones, with the yellow National Geographic border) and one released this year (which doesn't have the border but more dynamic). Does anyone know if there is...
In my newly renovated home, I have a "mancave" and the Dolby Atmos receiver and set up would make it un-leavable! Since the "mancave" is relativeily new, installing ceiling speakers and a few extra surrounds and another subwoofer perhaps would complement my existing 5.1 system. My NHT speakers...
I have an old Onkyo receiver that powers old NHT V-1 tower speakers, center channel and subwoofer (5.1 surround) I bought almost 20 years ago from a now-extinct specialzed audio/video store (when laserdiscs were big). With those types of stores gone here in Hawaii, I've never been able to...
Mike,
I'll try to not be a stranger, especially to your excellent Roundup! I still chuckle at your disclaimer about Circuit City in Hawaii. I'm glad you kept that.
I went to Verizon as a cell phone customer (after dropping their Internet service), but dropped them about 1.5 years ago when...
Hey Mike! Yep, I'm still here (the Hawaii Verizon guy from long ago). I got a message from HTF saying that I haven't logged in for some time and to check out the changes, so I wanted to come here to see how your Weekly Roundups are going. I think it's a great service you provide! Thanks!
I...

Current Speakers: NHT VT-1 tower speakers & center speaker; NHT SuperSub subwoofer
Why I Want To Win: These speakers are very old (about 15 years old for the towers/center, but still work good) and I would love to have them replaced with modern speakers

I didn't want to create a new thread, but I want to make a comment about the new Mill Creek Entertainment release of the uncut season 1 episodes. Before I contact Mill Creek, I wanted to ask if anyone else is experiencing this:
The pilot episode is fine, but every episode after that suffers...
I just got Catch Me If You Can on Blu-ray today and when I saw the cover art (and realizing how drastically different it was from the DVD art), I remembered this thread.
DVD Cover
Blu-ray Cover
It was bold for the studio to not show Leo's and Tom's faces for the DVD (movie poster?) and it...
Thanks as usual, Mike!
Criterion's website still lists The Game as being released on Sept. 25. Best Buy still reflects that (I guess that's why no price is listed here). Was there an official street date change I missed? Or is Amazon "jumping the starting gun"? I'm all for the earlier...
David: I bought The Closer: S7 with it. Could the gift card have been part of a WB promotion? Nothing popped up on the register about a promotion. Maybe it thought the $10 coupon was a "gift card"???
I headed to Best Buy after my post. I tried to get Revenge: S1. It was $39.99, sale price $34.99. I was expecting them to tell me it would be $10 off the regular price. The cashier never saw this coupon before so he spent a little time reading it, then trying to process it on the register...
Those ABCTVonDVDcoupon.com coupons are great. Will Best Buy honor them? (I recall in the past where people had some trouble with some Best Buys and these coupons; a friend told me that BB takes the savings off of MSRP, not the advertised price.) Wal-Mart seems to have less TV on Blu-ray...
Aloha Mike,
That's what I suspected, too. I thought all 4:3 Blu-rays were like what you described (a 16:9 image with 4:3 image inside). I know it was certainly true for the Star Trek: TOS BDs. But now that I know I'm not crazy, I still don't understand why I can now stretch the image (when I...
Hey Mike! I'm still around and lurking, but not a frequent visitor/poster. Life is just so busy that I couldn't stop and smell the roses. But I did read about your health issue and am glad everything is okay! (Is it?)
DD replied like I thought they would: They want me to ship it back. They...
Years ago I said I would forget DD, but I don't know why I keep going back. Almost two months ago, I ordered a Made-on-Demand TV show that was supposed to have three discs. Only today did I realize that I was only shipped two discs. I happened to look up its episode information online and...
Unfortunately, since I don't know where my problem lies (BD player or TV), I'm posting my concern here since the issue is the display of my image. I have an issue (I think) with my home theater setup. It was not in use for about five months, so my memory isn't clear about this. I moved my...
There is good news! On Blu-ray.com they only say "DTS-HD 5.1" (to nitpick the lingo) for Terminal Velocity. DVD Empire usually has great back cover scans, but they don't even have the latest Mill Creek BDs listed. Blu-ray.com doesn't have a back cover scan either.
But I have the disc in-hand...
When I heard that Mill Creek would be releasing one of my favorite popcorn movies May 15, 2012 on Blu-ray (Terminal Velocity), I remembered this thread, but some of these movies are not "bottom of the barrel" for my wanted titles. While there are no tech specs listed, I'm sure the Blu-ray will...
I saw the list of extras on another website, but it didn't mention if the "killer video" is included (it was a hidden feature on the DVD). If anyone has it, is it on the Blu-ray? Update: I saw the back cover and it has an extra not listed on Blu-ray.com called "Cursed Video." I don't know if...
Welcome back, Mike! Weekly RoundUp is synonymous with you. Hawaii Five-O: Season 1 will be released wide on Blu-ray this week. I hope it's not another title that is abandoned on Blu-ray (due to poor sales).
I haven't seen the movie, but everyone I know who saw it said they hated it. No one said they liked it or that it was okay. They all hated it and felt they wasted their money. I then went to Rotten Tomatoes and saw a rating of 80% fresh for critics and 44% for general public. This movie is an...
The back cover scans of the Starz/Anchor Bay (from Fox) titles (Grand Canyon, Monkeybone, The Scout) on DVD Empire's website show these are 1080i. Strange that the previous S/AB releases from Fox (Bad Girls, License to Drive, Project X) all say 1080p. Get well soon, Mike!
The Blu-ray set was too expensive for me and now it has been sold out for several months. I hope Paramount decides to release this wider. If it has been sold out, then that's a good sign, right? However, they've released Blu-ray TV seasons then switched back to only DVD (e.g., NCIS:LA). Aside...
