    No sound from sub

Hopefully someone here can help me out with this one.... My setup was Polk LSi's and SVS subwoofer hooked up to my Yamaha HTR-5760. Everything were working just fine. I recently purchased a power amplifier (Rotel RMB-1075), so all the Polk LSi's are now hooked up to this amplifier, and...

Alan - Please send me the pictures you have for this amp to [email protected]. Any problems with the amp? How much is the shipping to 95757? Any warranties?

    Power Amplifier recommendation

Too much power? Should I be looking something in the 100x5 @ 8 ohm instead? Is a used Rotel RMB 1075 Silver amplifier for around $700 a good deal?

    Power Amplifier recommendation

Just got my tax refund and am now ready to shop for a power multi-channel amplifier in the price range of $900-$1400... hopefully this will help take my home theater to the next level. Something new or a couple of years old would be great. Ones I have found are: Outlaw 755: 200x5 @ 4 ohm...

Connecting speakers and sub to receiver

Hi all - It seems like there are more than one way to hook up the speakers and sub to a receiver. I have always thought that you connect the speakers and sub directly to a receiver. But then I saw another setup where the receiver's OUT on the center and surrounds go to the center and surround...

    12 AWG vs 14 AWG

Could someone tell me which is a better deal... Unknown brand 12 AWG, 250 feet, 1 copper and 1 silver wires, $60 from Fry's. vs RCA High-Performance, 14 AWG, 200 feet, 2 copper wires, 100% oxygen-free, much thicker insulation, $70 from Home Depot.

    Hooking up a subwoofer

I don't think it's a good installation, because I couldn't use anything that they put in. The locations they terminated for the speakers are not in the ideal locations. I was going to relocate those terminations somewhere else, but they didn't even give me enough line to do that. So now I have...

Yamaha HTR-5760 and Polk Audio LSi series

I'll probably end up getting an amplifier to get the most out of my speakers. Any recommendations on which amp to get to go with the Yamaha htr-5760 to drive this LSi series?

Yamaha HTR-5760 and Polk Audio LSi series

David - I also sent Yamaha the question, and here's their response... The Yamaha will be able to power 4ohms speakers without a problem as long as the wattage is a close match to the receivers watts per channel output.

    Hooking up a subwoofer

Thanks guys. I feel a lot better now. The coax doesn't have anything at the ends yet. I'll have to attach RCA connectors to the ends. Can only use 1 RCA connector on each end correct? The back of my sub has a Left and a Right for both in and out on Low Level and High Level. One end of the...

    Hooking up a subwoofer

My SVS subwoofer arrived today, and I was about to hook it up to my pre-wired family room. I pulled out the wires in the wall.... found 6 lines labeling FR, FL, C, RR, RL, and SW. Pretty straight forward, except that the SW line (subwoofer I assumed) is not like the other 5 lines. I mean it...

Center channel to go with Polk LSi7's

Thanks for clarifying that for me Dean. And thank you for the replies and suggestions. I purchased the receiver and speakers seperately, so I can only blame myself. It was hard to ask questions when I didn't know what to ask. I guess the Yamaha HTR-5760 is rated for 8 ohms....110 Watts x 7 (8...

Center channel to go with Polk LSi7's

To be honest, I'm not really sure what I'm getting into :D Couldn't resist on the deals with the components I got. Maybe I should do more reading on what these 4 ohm speakers are about. Might have to take the receiver back and get a different one. So if I get an amp to go with this receiver, I...

Center channel to go with Polk LSi7's

Could someone suggest a center channel to go with my Polk Audio LSi7's? The fronts and rears are all LSi7. Subwoofer is SVS PB1-ISD, which hopefully will be here in a few days. Receiver is Yamaha HTR-5760. I was thinking of getting the Polk Audio CSi5 as the center channel since it kinda fit...

    In-Ceiling Speakers

Sorry about that... I'm still new to this field and wasn't sure what was needed. The pre-wired living room is open to the kitchen and a small hallway. I would post a floor plan if I knew how. The combined area for the living room and kitchen is about 550 s.f., ceiling height is 9 feet. The TV...

    In-Ceiling Speakers

My house is pre-wired for 4 ceiling speakers. Can someone recommend some good ceiling speakers along with a center speaker, a receiver and a sub? At the moment, all I have is a 57" projection TV in the living room. My ideal budget is around $600 to $800, but will go to $1000 if I have to. I will...
