    Arcam reliability

I've had my black AVR300 for 8 months and it is awesome. Besides on glitch on the menu (which could be fixed if I wanted to take it in for a firmware update) it has had zero issues. Like the previous post, I love the fact I cam "bi-amp" my mains by routing the power from ch 6+7 to ch 1+2. It...

    Arcam AVR-250

After doing a little more research on this, I am having a hard time spending around $1700 on an Arcam AVR-250 because it has no preouts (besides a subwoofer.) I guess the AVR-300 is going to be the way to go.

    Arcam AVR-250

Correct. It only has a sub pre-out (which is fine for me.)

    Arcam AVR-250

I am thinking about upgrading my receiver (currently have a NAD T742) and the Arcam AVR-250 looks like a great choice. Thoughts? Opinions?

    Starting an audio business

Thanks for the info. Currently, as a business owner, I understand the need for a business case, cash flow estimate, sales forecast, etc., but I was hoping to get some industry-specific information. I wanted some info on how to get into the audio game and what are some of the challenges with...

    Starting an audio business

I am pondering the idea of opening a home audio store. My preference would be to provide brands that are a step above the brands found in local audio/electronics stores (e.g. NAD, PSB, Denon, Marantz, Rotel, Paradigm, Arcam, etc.) I wanted to know if someone could give me some tips on the...

    Starting an audio business

Thanks for the follow-up. I currently co-own a business that I started several years back and know all too well about the "mac & cheese years", the long hours during start-up and the joys of preparing and begging for a loan (and having a just-short-of-seven-digit IOU.) My field is in...

    Starting an audio business

Thanks for the info. Using your simplified example, I would have to move 25 units/month to break even. Sheesh..almost one a day. I would also need to have storage space and some sort of insurance for that much equipment...food for thought. One more follow-up question, can you be a retailer...

    Starting an audio business

Hello all. I am thinking about starting a retail audio business. I would like to sell receivers, amps, CD/DVD players, etc. I would be working in a territory that has very few high-end audio shops. In any case, could someone help me with the basics on: 1) How do I become an authorized...

Heads up: Denon DVD-2200 refurbs at ecost for $289...again!

I got mine last Friday from Ecost and it works perfectly. I loaded the firmware update and all is well. Not bad for $296! There is a very slight scratch mark on the left side of the player, but who cares, it will be inside a glass cabinet anyway. Sorry for those who missed this round...

PSB Stratus C6i - worth the upgrade?

You are probably right. I think the Image 8C does a fine job.

PSB Stratus C6i - worth the upgrade?

I currently have a PSB Image 8C center channel and have been thinking about upgrading to the Stratus C6i center. I have Stratus Bronze has my main pair and thought the C6i would be a better fit. Can anyone give my any insights on this? Thanks!
