yeah, the light engine. Boy, I hope when I get my replacement that it's all better. But I sure know a bunch of people that have gotten the engine replaced more than 2-3x! Well...maybe I can get an upgrade. sigh.
I have the April 06 stamp of the 60" XBR1 and just started getting a bright green line down the right of my tv about a month ago. On another forum, there is already an extensive amount of talk regarding the high amount of Sony XBR1 owners who have this problem. But I've not seen much discussion...
Ah indeed...the link didn't work but I ran a search at CC. I'm getting mine today for my new 60" SXRD. Can't wait... Ok ok i'll admit...I pondered sticking some enclyclopedias back on the TV there to see if I could form a make shift center shelf for the center for the 2 days I'd be waiting...
Hey, I just bought the 60 inch Sony SXRD but the slope is REALLY REALLY extreme, making it difficult to mount the center properly. On my old Panny Tau set, the degree was more manageable, allowing me to put the center there for with only some wedges in the back to support it. A buddy of mine...
I am selling a 34 inch WideScreen Panasonic Tau Series. I have just graduated from grad school and will be travelling. I am trying to get rid of this excellent set, although I did truly love it. It is only a YEAR OLD! (Purchased from Tweeter Electronics in VA.) The set itself is flawless and...
Fixed it! It turns out, when you go to "Picture Mode" on the unit, below "User", is an option for picture adjustment. You can save all your settings within this as DEFAULT User 1 or any of the others. Since then, NO resetting to the Cinema 1 default picture mode. Now I ask you, not to rant...
Hey, for those of you with the Panasonic DVD-S77, check out this perplexing problem. We have all seen players that have picture mode adjustments, I.E. Cinema mode, Dynamic Mode, etc. All of these picture mode make subtle changes to the picture quality...(darker or lighter, etc.) Here's my...
So Allan, I presume with the hometheater hobby, if everything sounds good, everything is fine. With power etc, if something blows, I am sure everything sounds out of whack or doesn't work at all if there is a problem. And getting back to the power issue itself, I suppose it is pretty much...
Hi, I have been all over the forums here and I've seen discussions ranging from pros/cons of different surge protectors, "what-are-surge" questions, as well as general fuse issues on components. While I was out at a hockey game, I let the girl-friend (WHO HAS BEEN TRAINED ON PROPER THEATER...
I was wondering if loud sounds damage speakers, i.e. bass from The Haunting or other movies that go from quiet to sharp explosions etc. I figured that well made speakers like B&W for instance (7's in my case), can handle sounds that even the human ear can't detect. I mean, good speakers seem...
Thank you guys! I set my center on "small" and I think I notice a slightly higher degree of clarity coming from it. I listened to some classical pieces encoded in dts 5.1 and everything just sounded better. I am also not the type to feel infringed upon by setting a speaker to "small" and then...
Quick question about all this gentlemen...when one chooses to select "small" in the options for the center, where do these sounds get re-directed? Fronts and subs? ONLY sub? Does this change only refer to redirecting low tones etc? Thanks for the clarification... -Jay
Hi gang, good info from what you have all posted thus far! How's this for "sneaky" or just good thinking...open up a credit card with "X" Bank that offers warranty protection and make your purchase with that. Then just pay off the credit card with the funds you would have spent. In other...
Hey gang, just a shout out to all of you for the assistance on this forum getting people up and running. I found it really wonderful to browse the forum (while at work, hehehe) and get my sound meter working and tuning up my new HSU sub with my B&W's. This is really a great place to meet, learn...

Just a quick response to Mr. Harden...I totally agree. The spot where Mr. Incredible answers the phone had me jump and spin around 'cause I thought some maint. workers were still in my back hallway working (and I'd thought they'd gone.) It's the small moments in HT that I love and this was one...
Thank you so much gang! I really love this forum. = ) I did set my DVD player to 16 X 9 and I didn't know there was so much detail to widescreen settings! I'll go through my DVDs and see which ones work properly. thanks! -Jason
