IIRC, they also had "Next time on Dynasty..." previews at the end of each episode. I really wish CBS/Paramount would include those, too. They really make the "experience"...does anyone know if Dallas had similar recap/previews? And if so, are they on the season DVDs? I HATE these half-season...
I thought I was the only one (outside of OZ-maniacs of course!) that had this film in every format! I think I ended up with so many formats because it was one of the few films that I'd buy with those Columbia House intro packages (for the VHS club, LD club, etc)!!
Does this mean that a Blu-Ray disc from Europe (if so coded) would play on a US Blu-Ray player without needing to convert to American standard (ie, PAL > NTSC)? Or do you still have to take into account the PAL>NTSC conversion?
Troy - thanks for your reply. Hadn't checked back here 'til today. John - I second the motion - do share your experiences with the X-DE - very interested in learning more about this player!
Hi all, I've come across the Samsung ToC monitor (with built-in HDTV tuner) - particualry the T260HD (26" class/1080p). Any thoughts out there? I want to use this as a bedroom TV.
Yes - it irks me too that companies (or is it only CBS?) are moving away from disc cover art and/or using flippers! YIKES! Those two things are irksome to say the least!
Thanks for the replies - much appreciated. Joe - thanks for explaining the 1366x768 - stupidly I never realized the second number was the horizontal resolution! Duh!
Hi all, Just wondering if using a Blu-Ray player would be "overkill" on a Sony Bravia 32" KDL32L4000 720p set? Would it be just as useful to go upconversion or should I just keep using my progressive player? NB: checked the specs on sonystyle.com and it says "1080p (HDMI only)". Is that...
Thanks for the info on the XDE! I have access to a Sony Bravia 32" 720p LCD HDTV. Would it make any sense to buy the XDE for this TV? Would Blu-Ray make any sense for a 720p TV? In other words, does upconverting for a 720p TV make any sense? Would Blu-Ray make any sense for 720p or should...
Joe: When I went to post the URL originally, I got an error message stating that I didn't have 15 posts to the HTF thus I was not able to post a URL...odd, but true!
Joe: Thanks! I don't have enough posts here to allow posting of URLs. Scott_J: Lucky dog! I got mine at Amazon.com when they had reduced the price and I thought I got a good deal. Gord: Thanks for the update. Is there much music in MTM to have a rights issue??
Hi all, TVShowsondvd.com has posted information on MTM Season 2! It should release in July at $29.95. I can't post the specific URL to the info page, but just visit TV Shows on DVD for the details. Woo hoo!
Personally, I thought the price was too high. For me, MTM didn't hit its stride until the second season and I would have started purchasing sets around that point. I'm not sure others thought that way or not, but that was my thinking. I did buy on the Amazon.com price cut though. So...bring...
Hi all, Can I make another comparison? Carlton (a UK company) owns the rights to many Gerry Anderson series (creator of Thunderbirds, Space:1999, UFO amongst many other TV series). A&E is the Region 1 licensee for these products. A few months ago, A&E released a Supermarionation...
Hi all, Huge thread here so I haven't read every word of it - so please forgive me if any of this has been said before. In my case, Season 1 of MTM was not my favorite and the price of the set was a bit high. With so many other series competing for my dollars, buying a season set at a...
Hi all! New to the boards - thought I'd share my thoughts about this LIS Season 2 set with the group. When A&E released Space:1999 (and "The Avengers", "Thunderbirds" and a few others) they did it in box sets of TWO discs! It took 8 box sets [for Space:1999] to make the complete first...
