Below is the info from the SVS website. Follow it and you will be pleasantly surprised. As an example, I kept turning the volume up on my center channel, and then my surrounds, and rear surrounds (7.1 setup). The more I would do this, the more bass I would lose. Finally went back and...
Have you calibrated your system? If not, it makes a huge difference. I was fooling with mine, turning up the various surround channels. Eventually, I was loosing bass response. I recalibrated, and the bass returns! Anyway, placement of you speakers is a big deal, and so is properly calibrating...
Chris, I use my RF-7's for movies more than I do music. However, I believe that most over at the Klipsch forums would agree that the RF-7's are very good for music. I wouldn't use 2 sets of speakers up front. I would, however, suggest running them with enough power. I started with a Denon AVR -...
I have ordered several times from Blue Jeans. They are quality cables at a reasonable price. I re-did my HT room, and it required longer cables then I had already. I'm using a 40 ft. subwoofer cable, 30 ft. component video cables, 4ft. interconnects for my DVD-A/SACD connection (6 cables), and...
A little of both, but most notibly at lower listening levels. My bass response just seemed a little pathetic considering the RF-7's and the PC ultra. I had it calibrated, and would experiment with large/small, LFE+mains, and just LFE only. With the amp, the RF-'s are really opened-up and much...
My Denon wasn't straining to keep up, and the amp made a tremendous difference in my system. Perhaps you need to experiment with an amp from a company/store with a favorable return policy, and see what it does for yours. My local dealer offers 7 days cash refund, and 30 days for in-store credit.
Get an amp. I just did and it made a huge difference. I've been running a Denon AVR-2805, with all Klipsch reference 7, and a SVS PC ultra. Just got a B&K 200.7 S2 amp, and using the Denon as a pre/pro. I can't beging to explain how much of a difference it made with my RF-7's (much larger sound...
Charlie, I did the 3-day trial a while back - with no problem. I have since subscribed and have not been able to get the online version to play. It launches the player, but no music. Have you had any success?
And just to show you there are 2 sides to every coin, I went from bookshelves to floorstanders (RB-35's to RF-5's to RF-7's - all Klipsch), during the last year. I could never be more satisfied with those towers, for both music and movies.;)
John, I have only had my PC-Ultra for three days, but also have it in the front R. corner of my HT room. Was also wondering how close. I have the sub about 1-inch from both walls. I have a lower ceiling than yours, but this thing is thunderous and sounds fantastic.:emoji_thumbsup: I would guess...
Rao, Glad to know that you got the sub in your place alright. I hope you had some help lugging it up all those stairs! Like finding a new home for a dog you cannot keep any longer, I'm happy to know that my old sub has found a good home.:D As far as the ringing in your ears, it just gets worse...
Rich, depends on your location and signal strength. I am running a Denon 2805 with the standard issue am and fm ant., and just had a custom cabinet built to replace a coat closet. My components, mini frig, dvds and storage are all in this cabinet, and my am and fm reception is fine. I have a few...
Rao, Nice doing business with you;) Good luck with your studies, and make sure you don't turn that sub up too loud or you will drive your neighbors bonkers.
Bobby, I might have what your looking for.:D Look in this forum under the section "Hardware for Sale/Trade". I recently listed my SVS under "PB12-ISD/2 Priced right in Indy". Take a look. ;) Mike.
Hey Dallas, I think you should consider the PB12-ISD/2. See, Steve nn's post referring to its awesome performance. I can also attest to its incredible value. In fact, I just posted mine for sale on the "hardware for sale" section on this site.;) It's a great value, and I'm planning on replacing...
Purchased new in Aug. '04, and been loving it to death. Excellent condition. Just remodeled HT room, and cylinder sub would fit the room better than the box sub (WAF). Warranty still in effect. Have manual and plugs, but no box. Located in Indy, and would need somewhat local buyer to purchase...
I would say yes. You can analyze it any way you want, but when it came down to sound in my ears, the floor standers did outperform the bookshelves. I went through the same thing last year. I upgraded to a better receiver, bought a SVS, got some good bookshelves, and learned how to calibrate. I...
Hey Mike, I don't know which are "best" but I did recently install a pair of Klipsch RCW-5's for my rear-surrounds. I would look for something that matches your other speakers in your system. Since I have all Klipsch reference speakers, this was an easy choice for me. They actually perform...
Joe, I had the exact same experience. Boomy little paradigm sub, and then a SVS - wow what a difference in those high impact scenes in movies! Also try the Monsters Inc. trailer in Toy Story 2 - the 1st time I swore someone was pounding on my house!!:D Lots of fun.
I asked a similar question about a month ago. I was sitting on the fence as to whether I should switch from the black to the cherry finish. I was trading-up and it kept nagging me in the back of my mind that I liked the cherry finish. I received some favorable responses, and traded in my black...
Ken, I don't mean to be sarcastic, but since you are "in the business" I am surprised you are even asking this question - unless you are doing some marketing survey. I think you need to listen to them yourself and decide. But, since you asked, I love my all- Klipsch system. I love the sound, as...
Sheldon, I follow you now.:b Yes, you are right. I'm rather lucky because my back wall is connected to the garage and it is not an issue for me. My surrounds are to an outside wall and laundry room - so I never really considered it. I did hear my wife commenting about how loud it was in the...
Sheldon, Not sure exactly what you are getting at. I haven't done anything other than some rolled-up batting/insulation tucked-in above the speaker. I am sure the wall has an effect on the speaker's sound, but so far I haven't noticed any negative results. I was concerned about vibration, but so...
Skip, Let me give you my experience so far. I am using Klipsch RF-7's and RC-7 up front, with RS-7's for my side surrounds in a 7.1 set-up. As a "wife compromise" I went with the Klipsch in-walls for the rear center (rear surround is what I call it). I originally purchased the new in-walls (R...
Steve, Thanks for your response. Yes, you are right, I have several fire wire connections - just nothing that operates on it. I already have a built-in HD tuner, so I guess I'm probably just out of luck if looking for DVI. I didn't know that they were not as heavy into the DVI format. Guess it's...
Bought my Mits. 55" RPTV 2 yrs ago (fall '02). Mits then had a "guarantee" or "promise" of "future upgradability" due to any technology changes. This was 1 addt'l factor in why I bought the Mits. I have several component hookups on it, but no DVI or HDMI. I have e-mailed them 3 times to ask w/n...
Remodeling the HT room and planning on putting the components in a nearby closet, out of site (WAF). My DVD will be connected via component to the RPTV. I figure the run will be somewhere between 30 to 40 ft. long. Denon 2910 using the Switching in the Denon 2805 - output via component to Mits...
