Colt .45 - The Complete Series - Coming to Blu-Ray on March 12th '24 (Warner Archive)

Recent Tributes To Your Favorite Classic TV Stars: Just watched James Hong in an episode of New Adventures of Charlie Chan - Number 1 son! Glad he and Marta Kristen are still with us. Too bad we lost one of Marta's contemporaries Diana Millay a few years ago. They remain fixed in my memory as...

Please Don't Eat The Daisies Sitcom (1965-1967)

The Ghost and Mrs. Muir and Nanny and the Professor aired uncut in 40 minute time slots on Get Tv in 2016. I think this was shortly after the Australian release of Ghost. They both looked very good. I seem to recall Nanny airing possibly on MeTv or one of its affiliates around that time.

Colt .45 - The Complete Series - Coming to Blu-Ray on March 12th '24 (Warner Archive)

Surprising great news. Thanks for letting us know, Stan. I always liked Donald May in his other series and guest appearances, so that will be an added benefit. Don't know how much singing Dorothy Provine did in The Alaskans, but my guess is that would limit the chances of it being released. I...

    Favorite Christmas Episodes

I generally search for either new Christmas episodes or ones that I haven't watched in recent years. I watched the Ozzie and Harriet episode Late Christmas Gift this week and will probably watch the Fruitcake and another in the next few days. The Girl in the Emporium and A Piano in the...

International DVD Announcement: The Alfred Hitchcock Hour (The Complete Series)

I like those episodes too. Forecast: Low Clouds And Coastal Fog has a nice dramatic performance by Inger Stevens. An interesting contrast from her role in Farmer's Daughter. A couple of others with nice twists and good suspense are Goodbye George and Final Performance. Probably my favorite...

Glad of that, Randall, and that you didn't have the hassle of being disappointed with unplayable discs! Interesting that Kris' real life father was Tom Harmon, Heisman Trophy winner from his days at U. Michigan, and later a well-known sportscaster. Maybe just a coincidence that she never...

77 Sunset Strip / Hawaiian Eye, etc.

I did an A/B comparison with my copies from MeTV+ and Goodlife when they began on Plus about two years ago. MeTV+ is definitely sped up. It's noticeable in some dialogue. Most of the teasers are cut from MeTV+. There may be some minor cuts (less than one minute). In all likelihood, the edits...

    Dr. Kildare (1961-1966) Tv series

I've watched more of the hours and still haven't done much of the half hours which I'll get to soon. Probably some nostalgia with the hours since I liked them when I was around 10 years old watching them in first run. Casey was more of a hard ass and the writing was probably more realistic...

Press Release MPI Press Release: The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet Seasons 1 & 2 (DVD)

Maybe that was a good sign after all, Gary. There was an actual eclipse today which the folks out west could see.. Got confirmation today that season 14 is due to arrive October 24-27.

Is the b&w era of TV on DVD slowly coming to an end?

Something similar happened to me with Dr. Kildare, although less serious. The discs for season 2 were reversed in the cases, ie., part 1 in the case for part 2, etc. I didn't bother to change it but at least it's a fixable error. Seems like quality control for these mod releases is less than...

Which long running 50s sitcom would you most like to see get a complete release?

I agree that Bachelor Father is a milder, safer comedy. I've been watching the Antenna TV episodes for some time. I like to see who shows up as a guest star and object of Bentley's pursuits. Also Sammee Tong is probably the funniest character for me and the least safe as he usually speaks his...

Press Release MPI Press Release: The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet Seasons 1 & 2 (DVD)

Interesting note about June Blair. I was reading an old tv guide and noticed that she was listed as a one of the cast on Two Faces West (1960-61). She was apparently a semi-regular there (six episodes). I remember her also from the Water Nymphs episode of Sea Hunt.

Connie Harper also appeared in episodes before becoming a regular as the secretary (Miss Edwards) in the office of Dobson and Kelly. I recently watched A Surprise for Clara (season 7) and got my own surprise when she turned up in the credits of that episode. I went back and found that she was...

Tributes To Your Favorite Classic TV Stars

Barbara Lord, who I assume was an accomplished Broadway actress, turns in what to me is a knockout performance! She only has 21 screen credits, as she married a Doctor in real life and left the business for almost 30 years. I watched this episode recently too. Excellent review highlighting the...

77 Sunset Strip / Hawaiian Eye, etc.

The pilot episodes of all three are good, imo. Actually, it's the first series episode of 77SS, Lovely Lady, Pity Me. They convey the elements of drama and mystery basic to each series. I especially like the Bourbon Street Beat pilot, Taste of Ashes, which tells how Cal joined Rex in the...

Ozzie & Harriet Release From Sam Nelson?

Agreed. She's had quite the life. Being married to John DeLorean probably not the highlight. But she seems to have found her niche.

77 Sunset Strip / Hawaiian Eye, etc.

About 20 Surfside 6 episodes were posted on the Warner Archive website several years ago, along with HE. They were taken down after a few weeks.

    ClassicFlix RARE TELEVISION Thread

For anyone who has Prime, there are several episodes of Private Secretary (Susie) available for viewing there. At one time, the Ann Sothern Show was also up there. I didn't see it now though. I haven't looked into the status of The Man and the Challenge with George Nader, so I'm not asking...

77 Sunset Strip / Hawaiian Eye, etc.

Yes, unfortunate that Surfside 6 seems to have been short changed compared to 77SS and HE in recent airings. Though I think it may have had a complete (or nearly) run in Seattle in 1989-1990. Goodlife repeated a smaller set of Surfside 6 during the run when I had the channel. Me-TV has not...

Ozzie & Harriet Release From Sam Nelson?

I caught a few minutes of The Impossible Years a few days ago on TCM. Ozzie plays a physician (Dr. Herbert Fleischer) who gets into a heated argument with David Niven over the behavior of their teenage kids. Did anybody see it? It was interesting to see Ozzie playing genuinely angry almost to...

77 Sunset Strip / Hawaiian Eye, etc.

Both. I edited a few HE episodes from Me-TV and found one at 46 minutes and another at 48 minutes. Most of the teasers are cut, which are about a minute in length. Your hearing is accurate. The dialogue occasionally is garbled or unintelligible from being timesped. Not often enough to be a large...

Is the b&w era of TV on DVD slowly coming to an end?

The Dallas station ran shows like Our Miss Brooks, The Millionaire, and Wendy and Me as well as Farmer's Daughter and shows that had more exposure like Gunsmoke and Naked City. There was also a station in St. Cloud (I think), MN with the nick name TV Heaven that ran The Detectives and Life of...

Is the b&w era of TV on DVD slowly coming to an end?

Great news for sure. I had figured August at the earliest since it was about three months between the releases of seasons 9 and 10 in February and seasons 11 and 12 coming up in May. At least Bachelor Father has aired on Antenna TV in recent years. But lacking Farmer's Daughter as either a dvd...

Ozzie & Harriet Release From Sam Nelson?

It's hard to imagine Rick at 83, after watching him as a kid and young man in all these Ozzie and Harriet episodes. Very sad that he didn't live out a full life in years. I watched The High Cost of Dating today. Very much a fun and funny episode. Also a pleasure to see the beautiful Roberta...

Press Release MPI Press Release: The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet Seasons 1 & 2 (DVD)

I'm also looking forward to the announcement of seasons 13 and 14. Not only to complete the series in mostly pristine quality but to open up several feet on my bookshelves when I say goodbye to my vhs and beta tapes from the Disney Channel. It's tempting to toss them ahead of time but I'll be...

A small company (maybe not even that), ATI AudioTape Incorporated, released a pd set of the series in 2009. I'd like to see it restored. But I'm looking forward to 21 Beacon Street as well as the sitcom and what David is working on in his RARE TELEVISION line. Angel has had some exposure...

Is the b&w era of TV on DVD slowly coming to an end?

I'm also a fan of The Everglades! The 16mm prints which surfaced in the 90's were in good shape. I believe the pilot episode was not found. It was also interesting to see what seemed like local semi-professional actors in support of more well known actors from the Ziv company. That added...

Ozzie & Harriet Release From Sam Nelson?

I caught this show, I think it was the Red Skelton episode aired last Sunday on the 1920s Radio Network. Fun to hear the young Ozzie and Harriet singing. Also a rare opportunity to hear Harriet singing Mandy (no, not the Barry Manilow version) on the season 5 episode The Banjo Players. Perry...

I'm also a fan of Roberta. She was in the first four seasons of The Virginian (currently airing on Starz Western). Unfortunately for us, she retired at 22 to focus on her family, being a devout Mormon. But I can appreciate that she did what was best for herself. Just having watched The Usher...
