Yeah, i was talking about them honoring the warranty on the 5790 from etailelectronics since they don't seem to be an authorized seller. I am pretty much sold on the 5790. What speakers do you recommend to look at for a good price? JBLs on sale at bestbuy.com for $149 and then I would need a...
These seem to be recommended here and at other forums. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....4&type=product for $149.00 I would need to add a sub though. Unless someone knows of a better bang for the buck (that seems pretty cheap).
Are Yamaha speakers a good match for the Yamaha receiver or should I not bother. I was kind of looking at something like: http://etailelectronics.com/Merchant...ode=HASpeakers
Wayne, Do you think that Yamaha would honor a warranty purchased from that site? I guess I will call them first. You would think that they would honor all of their products for warranty.
Well I went to the Yamaha site and followed the links to some internet authorized dealers. Their sites seem to support the posts here. If I clicked on the 2400 for instance it would say not authorized for internet sales. The 5790 has no such distinction.
ok so there is another thread with mixed 57xx yamaha info on the the 5790 specifically who has the best price? jandr has it for $799 shipped seems like it can be had for cheaper with shipping. I am thinking this is the receiver I am going to buy. The 2400 just seems a little too high...
I really don't care about the remote too much. My concern is feature comparison. I have an MX-500 for a remote that can learn and do macros. I thought I read somewhere the only features the 2400 had over the 5790. I need to backtrack and find it. Then I need to compare that price...
That store has the 5790 for $540.00 I wonder if I should pick up one of those or is it more prudent to go to the 2400 series since I am willing to spend that much?
well one benefit of the switcher is that it will handle 4 inputs even when I get the new receiver it will not do that, I think it is a good investment, it seems to be very popular on the avs forum In addition, if I want only one signal going to my projector I am going to have to move up to...
Yes, I am going to look at the components you listed. My initial budget was around $700 or so. That would bring me to around $900 or so. The whole setup for $1000 is awesome and I will probably end up doing just that. However, until I pull the trigger I am going to pick up that switch...
yeah the upconversion thing was something the 2400 and even the 1400 did (to component that is) that is actually a very nice feature that would allow me to only run one cable to the projector
doing a little more reading appears the 5790 has a few more inputs and also will upconvert to component where as the 5760 will only upconvert to svideo I think I am going to get a Yamaha for sure it is just a matter of finding the best deal at this point.
Where are you finding the 5760 for $349? I am not sure whether I want to get the 5760, the 2400 or the 750. They all seem to be similar. However, if the 5760 is going for $349 that seems to be a steal.
Just picked up on this thread because I am deciding between the HK630 and a Yamaha. I see a bunch of different Yamaha models listed in the thread other than the RX 2400. So what is with all the different models? Are the ones mentioned preferable to the 2400?
Ok so you guys have convinced me no on another HTIB. Doesn't take much to convince me to go with higher end components. :) So what would recommend for easing into a better system. As far as most bang for the buck. What receiver? What speakers? Obviously, I cannot afford top of the line...
Ok, I may have to go piece by piece if the current HTIB won't cut it, however, I need to upgrade the receiver now. That is the main reason for the upgrade (no component inputs). I have to manually switch all my digital audio and component cables from my HD box to my DVD player when I want to...
Wondering if I should maybe look at some of the current HTIB right now. The main concern there would be that it is better than my current setup and it had enough bw for HD.
I have the set that came with the Kenwood. The receiver is a Kenwood VR-309. The speakers don't say much. R/L Front and Center have KS-401HT. The powered Sub has SW-32HT. Not sure about the Back R/L as they are up on the ceiling and I would have to get up there and unmount them to see...
Ok, now that I have HD, DVD, etc etc...my old receiver just doesn't cut it anymore (no component inputs). I have one of the old Kenwood HTB-530(or 503 I don't remember) I think it is (many many years old). It has served me well though. Anyway, upon looking at what to do I find the decision...
