I'll ask again, hopefully people wont mind. Did anyone notice sound levels were mis-matched on some of the cartoons in this set? Dialog and some effects were mixed at lower levels than the music and effects tracks? Apparently another website which did a review of this title also noted it.
Has anyone had any sound balance issues on the Looney Tunes Collectors Choice Vol. I?
I started playing the disc with track two, and heard what appears to be an elevated music and effects track that seemed to overpower the dialogue track.
Thanks...

I really enjoyed Elton's "Red Piano" Blu-ray disc of his residency show at Ceasar's.

Which made me remember this favorite scene from "Auntie Mame:"
Patrick: Is the English lady sick, Auntie Mame?
Auntie Mame: She's not English, darling... she's from Pittsburgh.
Patrick: She sounded English.
Auntie Mame: Well, when you're from Pittsburgh, you have to do something.”
My thoughts?
Forgetabout the shot. Watch RAH instead.
I think someone at Paramount owes him an apology. Sony sure knows how to treat him as he should be.
I think "Airport" has the most glorious main title / snow removal music ever! :)
I've always wondered if Bisset left the shoot early for some reason. She seems to disappear behind bandages after the explosion.
Wasn't Warner Hollywood used as an experimental theater over the past few years? I seem to remember they used to run sound and picture tests. Of course, I could be mixed up about this.
Thank you for your prompt, as well as informative. response to my question.
I never thought I would ever be able to own the complete Montez & Hall collection, much less on Blu-ray in HD with the wonderful quality Kino has been providing on their releases.
Thank you for this release (Montez & Hall). It's made my day.
I've looked around but have not seen how this set is configured. My guess is the three titles will be split over two discs, with Gypsy Wildcat on its own.
Update: Kino did send me a form acknowledgement. It was very much appreciated.
Original post: A thank you for addressing this issue. May I make a suggestion?
In the future, can you have your form send an e-mail acknowledgement back to the person who requested the replacement?
My guess is...
First, a great big thank you to the people at Kino who supervise their title selections. This past year they released two of my absolute favorite "so-bad-they're-great" films on Blu-ray, The Oscar and Cobra Woman. I never expected to be able to see those titles in HD. They are just so...
If it's any help, I'm sharing the Blu-Ray cover scan I reworked for "That Certain Age" which was printed out so I could slide it in over the current artwork. At least you can now see who else stars in the movie with her.
Travis, if you order a steak and are served hamburger instead, do you just hope the diner's owner hears your complaint and then go ahead and eat it anyway? And even pay the higher steak price for ground beef too? My guess is that you would send the hamburger right back, even if the waiter...
Robert, his name is emblazoned all over these releases. He even posted an editorial on his own site imploring consumers to speak up about the subject of quality DVD releases. A request to home video head Dick Cook can and should be made on our behalf. If Cook says no, then Maltin can honestly...
Wasn't Pinocchio always used as a format launcher for the animated films? I would expect it would maintain that distinction for HD DVD - if they follow past history.
Just an FYI for Pioneer 588A owners: I picked up "Fear of Music" on DualDisc with a little trepidation, since I'd seen a few posts on other forums saying the Pioneer unit would not play the hi-rez multi-channel DVD-A tracks. It played just fine on my machine, as did the recently released...
Costco in Burbank had all six currently released Seinfeld seasons (both gift sets and the one season not in a gift set) packaged together in a custom box for $149.99 with a $40 instant cash register rebate, for a final cost of $109.99. (The instant rebate expires early January, sorry I missed...
Not any if they can't keep the quality up. By the way, I did my part: http://www.miceage.com/allutz/al121905a.htm Hell hath no fury like a scorned DVD collector I guess. ;)
By the way, apparently there is now some press interest on this issue, from both a national entertainment magazine and the newspaper here in L.A.. It looks like from the conversations I've had that Maltin's name on this, plus his column on-line and his e-mails to folks, have been the spark. I...
