Convince me to buy an SVS PB10-ISD.

Well, time for an update. I received my PB10 and hooked it up. Its way overkill for what I need, but anyways. Looks like I need to buy a new receiver as my current one has a fixed 100Hz crossover and I can tell where the sub is located. I used to have a sub/sat system years ago, and hated it...

    New Reciever Suggestions?

I personally have a Marantz SR5300. If I ever needed to upgrade to get some additional features, I would get either an SR7500, SR7400, or SR6400.

Newbie - needs speaker advice for large family room

I had to give my friend similar advice when it came time for him to buy speakers. He wanted a set of 5.1 speakers for his familiy room for a limited $1200 budget. I told him that for that kind of money it would be a lost cause, and it would be better to get a set of high quality 2 channel...

Convince me to buy an SVS PB10-ISD.

I'm gambling I can keep my sub at tolerable levels for my neighbors. My walls aren't the thickest in the world. But atleast they would know what a SVS subwoofer can do. ;) I just did my taxes, getting $1150 back, I guess I have no excuse now.

Convince me to buy an SVS PB10-ISD.

Thanks Ron, I ran a little experiment with my current speakers. I played a 100hz test tone through my left speaker, just next to where the sub will be placed. I was somewhat able to localize the source, in respect that it was louder at my left ear than my right ear, but quite hard to...

Convince me to buy an SVS PB10-ISD.

I do have one last question however. I will be using the subwoofer output from my receiver, it has a fixed 100hz xover frequency. Will I have any issues with this. I'd rather not have to upgrade my receiver to a higher model just to get an adjustable xover frequency. Thanks,

Convince me to buy an SVS PB10-ISD.

I am looking into the SVS PB10-ISD with great interest. My current audio setup consists of a Marantz SR5300 A/V receiver and a pair of Mackie HR824 studio monitors. These speakers are fabulous on their own, with a frequency response of 37hz to 22.5khz +/- 1.5db...

$400 Sub Face-off: SVS PB10-ISD Takes On a Few Competitors

In regards to using an additional high-pass filter similar to the one Wayne used to enhance the SVS's resolution, I found these little items on eBay. cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=5732520391&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT...

$400 Sub Face-off: SVS PB10-ISD Takes On a Few Competitors

Wayne, What are your thoughts about using a 20hz 12db/octave high-pass filter in place of the 25hz 18db/octave filter you used with the SVS. Would it have a similar effect to what you mentioned about an improvement in low frequency resolution? Thanks,
