Thanks for the responce Kyle.As for FF7 I'd be wary of that game.As you said there are alot of static images and you can play for long periods of time without realizing it.You already have the contrast down so half the battle is won. Take breaks when playing and when you finish it do'nt play it...
Is there any chance of getting burn-in from the channel menu that comes up whenever I change the channel?I have timewarner cable, the menus last about two seconds but if I it stays constant until I stop.
What's up.Is there any chance of getting burn-in from the channel logos on digital cable.Everytime you change the channel a little menu pops up on the bottom of the screen with channel information on time warner cable.
I've read as much as I could about image retention but I'm still confused about playing videogames on my rptv. Some say that it's ok as long as I vary the image.Others say it can still happen and it's not worth the risk. I've calibrated my tv with an avia disk. Can anyone who plays videogames on a...
Greetings Micheal TLV. Thanks for the info on the isf calibration.Your first responce scared me as to how my rptv will look compared to my 40 inch direct view tv.After living with the set for a week I love it.You were'nt kidding about it being a different experience.Hd and dvds look great! To me...
I've had the sony 57ws550 for about a week and the first couple day were murder. Now after some avia calibration cable looks alot better.Of course some channels look better than others but it was the same on my 40 inch direct view.
What is the difference between a full calibration and a standard calibration?Kevin Miller is doing my calibration. Thanks for the info. Any other opinions out there?
I'm about to replace my Sony 40xbr800 for a 57 inch rptv. The 40 inch has been calibrated by an isf tech and I love the picture with dvd and hd.Due to purity problems and my hunger for a larger screen I'm having it replaced with the Sony kdp-57ws550 that will also get calibrated by an isf...
I was wondering how to set up my Avia disk on a rptv?I have a 40xbr800 and when I use the Avia disk it's 4x3.When you set up on a rptv do you view the Avia disk with a zoom/wide mode or do you keep it 4x3?
I plan on having a lamp behind the set.I'll look into the 6500k tube. What do you do with your center channel speaker? The 550 has no room on top for a speaker.I was thinking about building a small stand to put in front of the tv for dvd and hd watching.Any better ideas?
Steve I might have phrased it the wrong way but I understnd that the 1080i refers to the scan lines the set draws "across" the screen from a hd signal.Great explanation though. Thanks for the info on the 550.This is my first rptv. It's replacing a defective 40xbr800.I wanted to be sure I would be...
Greetings!I do'nt know if the kdp550 has 1080i lines of resolution. On the sony website the specs do not mention it's native resolution. On the model before it the kp510, it states the native resolution as 1080i.The 550 has a built in hd turner the 510 does not.On the Sony website you can compare...
