    Console Questions

I could be wrong, but I believe the newest PS2s on store shelves today now have progressive scan DVD capability  (unlike older model PS2s and current XBOX models). This may help you in your choosing between consoles with DVD in mind. I have both the older model PS2 and current XBOX...

Emergency Bulb Cooling - What would/did you do?

Thanks for the reassurance Dave. The scientific p.o.v. does actually makes sense. I think I may stray away from using the 30 minute strategy.

Emergency Bulb Cooling - What would/did you do?

I guess it's just best not forget to always have a reliable UPS in the first place.:D No matter what projector you have, do most of you all buy into the "fast cooling" method as mentioned in the FAQ, or the "slow cooling" method?

Emergency Bulb Cooling - What would/did you do?

With your projector, I know the simple solution for emergency bulb cooling is to buy a UPS system. When the power goes out due to a thunderstorm or whatever, you can still have a safe method for cooling your bulb down. But... 1. What would you do if you didn't have an UPS for your projector...

Any 6.1 receiver accommodating 2 rear surronds?

Thanks everyone for the info so far. Some have mentioned going "parallel", others have mentioned going "series". I guess that I might try series simply because it sounds safer to have a 16 ohm total load than a 4 ohm. Also, I like what Stephen mentioned about the Pioneers and how they do...

Any 6.1 receiver accommodating 2 rear surronds?

My reason for the 2 speakers sharing the rear channel duties instead of one is there is a wide doorway at the back of the room (from the kitchen), so I can't center one speaker. I am trying to put one on each side of the door, on the wall. One speaker above the door would of course not be at ear...

Any 6.1 receiver accommodating 2 rear surronds?

I have a budget of about $300 and most 7.1 receivers I have found so far are in the $400 and up range.:frowning:

Any 6.1 receiver accommodating 2 rear surronds?

Does anyone know of a 6.1 receiver on the market that can accommodate 2 rear speakers for one rear channel sound? In other words, I don't quite have the cash for a 7.1 receiver, but I already have the 2 rear speakers. Is there a 6.1 receiver that will mimic a 7.1 (act as a poor man's 7.1...

What kind of speaker makes a good rear channel (for 6.1) ?

What kind of speaker makes a good rear channel (for 6.1)? Would I buy something like a 2nd center channel speaker that just goes in the back of the room? Would I buy something like one solitary satellite speaker? One 2-way or 3-way bookshelf speaker? In other words, what type of speaker should...

Can 3 composite cables substitute for buying component video cables?

Thanks for the help. I feel silly that I couldn't find that that low of a price on my own. I now also see the same product Target has at Circuit City for the same price. I will purchase today, and then it will be game time!:) Thanks to all!

Can 3 composite cables substitute for buying component video cables?

I would like an extension for my component video connections coming from my XBOX (the HD Pack) to my projector in the back of my room, but 12 ft. of component cable extension is a bit pricey. I wondered if I could buy 3 long RCA cables? Can I make 3 separate RCA composite cables (mated to...
