Thanks... it's been a 6 year in the making project since we sold our old house with my first theatre. All that's left is a new couch, but I really love my old one, so it'll be hard to get rid of it :)
I looked at programmable ones, my only issue is I don't have power anywhere near where it...
Theatre space is great... really loving it. I finally had some time to finish up some bits and pieces that were still on my list.
- Painted the white ceiling where the projector housing is to match the blue in the theatre room. Made a big difference with reflections and picture quality...
Thanks.... I've been searching some other posts and forums and some are saying HDMI 2 input on the Sony projector handles the HDCP handshake better. If not, I'll have to use the old manual switch and pull the 4K TV out of the receiver when I wanna watch the projector :)
I'll post an update...
I am currently having the same issues - I talked to Denon support today and monitor 1 output has 4K priority, while monitor 2 does not. I have a 4K in output 1 and my Sony 1080p projector in 2. The HDCP HDMI handshake does not work most of the time, so I have to pull out the TV from output 1...
Hey everyone.
Well, it's finished! Took over 12 hours to install yesterday, but she's in and it's time to start playing and tweaking.
Lots to do still, but I'm loving it!
Thanks for the all the comments and suggestions, it's much appreciated.
Cheers!
Andrew
Well, flooring is in and I’m really happy how it all turned out. Next update won’t be till the actual gear goes in which will be around the 20th of March. Three long work road trips tend to hamper any play time.
Thanks for all the comments. Can’t wait for it to finally get done!!
Update:
Painting is all done! Electrical is almost done. Flooring will be going down on Monday. Still no timetable on actual gear install ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (stoopid work)
Really happy with the blue and white. It’ll match with the carpet really nicely.
Drywall is all finished... last bits of trim to be done and then it's prime and paint time! About two weeks and it should all be done... minus the whole 'theatre' part as work is too busy to get it all put in. I'm hoping all the components will be in and setup by the end of March. Fingers...
Yes! Drywall was all finished today for the entire basement and not just the theatre room. Tapers and mudders are next week and then I should be painting the following hopefully.
Drywall and AV rack enclosures are done! Really happy with how the space has come together. You can draw, plan and imagine all you want, but until you see it, you can never be 100%.
It’s going to be a great space for movies, games friends and family.
UPDATE:
Hey all, now that the Christmas break is over, got a lot more done in the theatre space. All the bulkheads are done, electrical is done and passed and insulation went in today. As you can see from the pics, the space is becoming more defined and the AV rack has to go into place with...
Thanks!
Yeah, my buddy who is helping me design the project loves the projector, he's got one in his house too! The TV will literally be a last minute decision as I'm at least two months away from the final install of all the gear. I have a really busy January and February for work (Olympic...
Wiring is all finished! 7.1 system with in-ceiling surrounds and in-wall subwoofer. Went with the in-walls/ceilings to get high bride approval, which as we all know is very important. Lots of Cat6 and coax plus additional speaker wire for in ceiling stereo speakers setup with Sonos Connect...
Construction has commenced. Subfloor and framing started this past Monday and so far great progress.
Pic 1 - Looking into the theatre space. There will be double pocket doors into the theatre.
Pic 2 - Where the main viewing space will be
Pic 3 - From the back of the theatre looking to the...
Hello all....
Construction on my basement reno is to start the week of December 4th, with HT wiring hoping to be done the week of the 18th - 22nd. I will post pictures as the work begins and add more as progress begins.
Here is a list of the gear I will be using in version three as I sold...
Hello everyone,
It's been a long time since I've posted, but as they say, life gets in the way and since then I've moved and sold my old home theatre to the people who bought our house. Well, it's coming to that time again when I'll be starting a new home theatre project in the new house and...
I've seen this show 5 times live and own the original concert DVD that was recorded live at Royal Albert Hall. I also have the 3 disc complete symphonic recording and I was excited to watch this the other night on PBS. Wow, was I disappointed. The cast they assembled for this performance...
Hi Adam, I purchased and installed the Dri-Core product for the sub-floor to my home theatre with great results. I'm sure if you searched for Dri-Core in this forum you would find a lot of the old threads relating to what I wrote way back then. In a nutshell, I've seen three great...
Sounds like you've got a corrupted file. It could have hiccuped when you were downloading it. I have a PS3 and haven't encountered the same problem. Can you contact Sony to see if you can re-download? Cheers, Andrew
If it's only when playing games, then I might suggest it could be a bad disc or laser issue. Can you play something else on your system without the pops? I'm assuming it's a PS3 or XBox? It wouldn't be a frequency issue or the codec's, but more than likely it's your media. Try cleaning if...
Hey Matt,
I'm roughly 9 and half feet back from my 65" plasma now. I was around 7 feet to my 57" RPTV and both distances were great. I have a second row of seating that is around 13 feet and it still looks great from there
I think you need play around with the distance calculators...
Not necessarily... it all depends on the layout of your room and what your main listening area is. My main listening position is the front row, so I don't have an obstructed view of speakers. There is a slight 15 degree angle on the centre speaker and that directs the sound directly to my face...
Hey all, Thanks for comments on the upgrades. It's a lot of fun and the new tv has added a lot of space to the theatre. I've put a side by side comparison of the front to show the difference. With the replacement of the old RPTV I've gained close to three feet of floor...
OK... I had some time so I added some new pictures of the new gear. I guess just click on my profile and that will bring you to the one album I have of pictures. Cheers! Andrew
