How many households have HT sound systems?

Over here (Netherlands) all-in-one home cinema sets (you know, dvd/receiver + 5 little plastic speakers + sub) are a real hype. It seems that everybody buys one. I personally don't understand. The sound is really crappy (irritating high and booming low), but I guess that most people don't have...

    Subwoofer and pets

I have some cool cats. They don't care!!!! They continue to sleep, sometimes almost next to my rear speaker. Sometimes they look up when someone in a movie knocks loudly on a door or window. That's nice to see.

Well, got my Integra DTR 6.4 to replace my Arcam

To bad you didn't go for the Arcam, but I can't blame you considering your experiences. I've never heard of Integra. I suppose it's only available in the USA and Canada (the dealer locater on their site only allows you to select Canada and USA). the machine looks sweet and it has more features...

My Arcam AVR200 just blew up, AGAIN!!!!!!!!!

If this is a new machine you must be doing something wrong. Although it looks like you know exactly what you're doing. Isn't it possible to let your dealer do the setup for you (just to be sure). I hope you soon will be able to enjoy your AVR200. Good luck. [Off topic mode] Have you...

    NAD T753 Owners Inside...

I tested the 763 a few weeks ago. It has the same problem. The fan is not 'intelligent'. It's always on. The sound of the NAD 7x3 series is great, but the background noise (I also noticed a 'hum' in the subwoofer channel) is very irritating. For me it was the reason not to go for a NAD receiver.

    Matching speakers to Arcam AVR200

Check this site. They have a separate Arcam thread. Maybe you find some info there. www . avforums . com (sorry for the strange link, but I can't post links yet, I did not post enough messages )

    Matching speakers to Arcam AVR200

I also own an Arcam / Dynaudio Audience combination. Nice to read I'm not the only one ;) . It's a good combination when you like a 'warm' sound. If you have the change go and listen to it. I don't know the Paradigm speakers. In my opinion B&W generally is a little to 'boomy'.

    About Getting a Centre Speaker

I always prefer speakers from the same range / brand or at least with the same 'sound color'. I would go for a Tannoy from the same series as your fronts (if that is possible) or one of it's successors. I'm not familiar with polk, so I can't help you with that.

    Tower vs Bookshelf

I also own an Arcam AVR200. My speakers are all bookshelf models. All Dynaudio Audience (52 front, 42 surround, 122C center). I must say it performs alright in my situation. I also own a Rel Quake II sub, but I only use this with DVD not in stereo. The Dynaudio 52 / Arcam combination is...
