My Yamha 2400 has a sleep option. And my tv turns off after 5min if there is no video signal and I got my dvd player in the switching outlet on the reciever so it works out great for me! Nick.S

If I am not mistaking the 1400 only does composite to svideo and back. I dont think it takes composite or svideo to component. As far as losing video quality going through a receiver, I think it very very minimal. In fact I have not even noticed and loss. Nick

I do have a calibration disc, and I just purchased a analog spl meter from radio shack. I just need to spend some time and calibrate everything. My sub just has so many conections on the back I did not know if there was a better way to hook it up. Thanks Nick.S
