Wow your right, just a quick look around for some prices I come up with 500 being the lowest for a used unit on eBay. Dang what a disappointment. It is going to drive me nuts not being able to have the best output-ed resolution from these new games. Thanks for your help, looks like I will try...
Well I must have bought the one tv that does not do this. :-( Its a Mitsubishi that I bought from best buy. I don't have the exact model right now. I know it does not because my current xbox was displaying this resolution and my tv just was going crazy. (and yes I do mean 720p my mistake) So I...
I have a widescreen HD tv that I bought about 2 years ago. It does not appear to support 780P. I am kind of a video game guy and plan on getting the new xbox360 that outputs all games at 780p and some at 1080i. Is there something I can get to upconvert the 780p to 1080i so i can enjoy the 780...
Well I don't even have much room to put the speaker behind my couch. My couch is against the side and back wall in the corner. I am doing to try and put them on the sides and maybe angle them down a little. I will play with it and report what I find works best. Nick
I have a fairly small living room. (dont have dementions) I have jbl setup all the way around and a yamaha 2400 powering everything. It sounds very good! The only thing that I dont like is that I cant hear my surround speakers very well. Seems like my old crapy setup with $30 surround speakers...
I have a yamaha 2400 reciever and JBl's all around. My surrounds are e10's. I recently have found one that is all messed up, no sound from the woofer and the tweeter is cracked but playing. I am getting it replaced from jbl (I hope) But I was thinking to prevent this should i mess with my eq...
I am using the Yamaha 2400. I would not think that reciever would underpower these speakers. I have had partys and have turned up the music very very loud. If anything I probably blew it out. TooHuge
I was playing with my system last night and during the test I realized that one of my surround speakers sounded really low. I took it off the wall and looked at the top tweeter and it was cracked. Also no sound is coming from the woofer on it. I hooked it up to a diff channel and it sounded the...
Yes this is what I want to do, like play my xbox, and watch my tivo. Both running through my reciever now, I just would have to output zone 2 to my tv also. Is this correct? also can zone 3 output video too, or just audio? Thanks Nick.S
I have a yamaha 2400 and ever since I owned it the zone 2 and 3 lights are on in the display. I have these turned off, I have never even used them. How com they are stayin on? Nick.S
My Yamha 2400 has a sleep option. And my tv turns off after 5min if there is no video signal and I got my dvd player in the switching outlet on the reciever so it works out great for me! Nick.S
If I am not mistaking the 1400 only does composite to svideo and back. I dont think it takes composite or svideo to component. As far as losing video quality going through a receiver, I think it very very minimal. In fact I have not even noticed and loss. Nick
Well I got it hooked up to what I think it correct. And wow does it sound good. I went from a kenwood 120 by 1 amp and mtx thunder 5000 10's to a mtx amp that is 80 by 2 (bridged) and mtx thunder 5000 12's. Huge diff!!! My bass gets a lot lower now and I can feel it a lot more! I have to turn...
I just bought a uses amp and subs from a buddy. The amp is a MTX 4160 4ch. He was using it to push his subs and front speakers. For now I only want to use it for my subs. (maybe rear speakers someday) I am unsure about my options for hooking this up. Does anyone happen to have this amp and...
I sold my subs amp and crossover a few months ago. I am only running front speakers and front tweeters. It sounds very very plain. I need some nice 6x9's and a amp. I don’t really want to spend to much but want it to be loud and clear. If I could get some good bass from the 6x9's that would be...
Thanks for all of the replys! I will take the time and calibrate everything tonight. I have just a few more questions.. What does it mean when you set the speakers to large or small? Also I know this is the wrong forum, but does the yamaha 2400 have a EQ built in somewhere? Was wondering if this...
I do have a calibration disc, and I just purchased a analog spl meter from radio shack. I just need to spend some time and calibrate everything. My sub just has so many conections on the back I did not know if there was a better way to hook it up. Thanks Nick.S
I just bought a new home theater system. All JBL e90 fronts ec-35 center and e10's for the sides and my sub is the 250p. This is getting pushed by a Yamaha 2400. To be quite honest I am a little disappointed with it all. It can get crazy loud and it still very clear I just have a hard time...
Yes I realize this. Just using the terminology that is used in the specs. I just like using it so I don’t have to change my receiver and my tv when i switch from dtv-xbox-or dvd player. Nick.S
I got my new receiver last Friday! (Yamaha 2400) I would agree the up conversion seems to work great! On the temp receiver I was using it only had composite-svideo conversion and it looked really really bad. I am using all svideo and component now. I am sure converting composite to component or...
What is your favorite surround format when DTS, dolby digital is not available. (Cable or DTV) With all the pro-logic pro-logic II neo6 music and movie modes??? I would like to choose one that uses my front towers and surround a lot. Nick
I would also like to know if this works ok with minimal loss. My Yamaha 2400 should be here any day now so I will be testing it out, I will post my results. Nick
I ordered a new yamaha 2400 but there was a problem and its taking like 4 weeks to get here, so I went and bought the 5660 at BB as a temp reciever. I found that it is very very loud and clear with my speaker setup (all jbl northridge series) I have not done much playing with it being that its...
Thats kind of what I was thinking. I think they sound very very good too. BTW I just purchased JBL e90's for the front ec35 center e250p sub and e10's for the rear. And a Yamaha 2400 receiver! I cant wait till it all get here. I think the total was just over 2000 for it all. Should be fun to...
Hmm so basically I am choosing either the Yamaha 2400 or the denon 3803.. Are there any other recievers around these models with that feature. Just want to get a good list to choose from. Thanks Nick.S
