Both the 7300 and 7300ose list "Massive Energy Power Supply, Huge EL Transformer". Does the new 7400 have these EL transfomers also or are they the same that is on the SR6400??
Any thoughts on which of these 2 receivers will have more clean/true power for HT usage? Price is about the same. I,m less concerned with features, more with which will produce the better sound.
When you guys say the receiver runs hot, how long does it take to get hot?? I have the 6400 and have not noticed any problems. However, I think I will be trading up to the 7400 since it isnt a huge cost difference. Thanks
John Garcia, what size is the room that you are using the VTF-2? My setup is in the basement and the room is about 20 by 25 (actually a little less, with a 7 foor ceiling). I noticed your friend had a very large room and the 25/31 SVS seemed to do the trick in a large room. I have been trying to...
Calvin, dont get to hung up on the finishes. I have a pair of BC 2.1's. While they are in my basement and not in a main part of the house, per say, they look fine. The real issue should be the color your looking for. If your room can support the dark cheery color (almost black, and not sure my...
Scott, I used to have the Onyko 575 model (75 watts I think) and i was easily in the 48-55 range on the volume dial for movies. I was concerned with this at first but then relized that was normal.
Joshua, from reading previous posts on the Axioms, it appears that the Axioms would be much brighter than the Swans. So I would consider that in your decision making process and decide if you would like more of a bright sounding speaker or more neutral like the Swans.
Stephen, one more question. I agree with your comment on "REAL POWER". Any way of knowing if which has more real power, the Denon 3803 or the Marantz 6400?? Thanks I was looking hard at the 3803 since the price may drop with the new 3805 coming out.
Stephen, I agree with your comments. However, I,m not concerned so much with the extras that the 6400 doesnt have as pretty much I only run a DVD player out of the receiver. Marantz lists the 6400 as "high performance, high power" receiver (for example they do not use this language on the 5400...
Stephen, do you think the Marantz 6400 receiver will do an adequate job driving the Swans? I will be using the 2.1's as the L/R and the C3 center. Thanks.
JimIroc is correct. I found that 6th is an authorized dealer for their retail stores but not over the internet. Anyway, I like the H/K alot but given some quality issues, it seems to be a risk to order over the internet. Oh well back to either the Denon 2803, Yam 1400 or Marantz 6400.
I called and they claim to be an authorized dealer as their website claims. 14 day return policy however they charge a 15% restock fee if you return for other then defects.
Has anyone purchased anything from 6th ave?? Your experience would be appreciated. I dont understand how the pricing on the HK line could be so much cheaper than at local stores. IN fact, one guy at a local pro-audio store claims emphatically that HK can not be sold over the internet. I was...
I recently purchased A Def Tech package but will be returning due to the Def Techs being on the bright side. I am looking to give the Swan's a try. When I purchased the Def Techs I got the Pro100 sub at a real good price. This sub is 250watts with 10" driver (ported). The Swan sub is 250 watts...
I would be interested in people's opinion on how they would rate these bookshelf speakers for being bright. B&W 602 Paradigm monitor 5 PSB Image Series Monitor Audio Bronze Also any comments on which one has the best center speaker for their respective series. Thanks.
Phil where did you get the missions? Are you looking to replace these? I am looking to demo some soft dome tweeter speakers but there is not a lot out there.
AS my previous thead indicated, I am leaning toward B&W but plan on making a few more comparisons before final decision. I currently have a Onyko 575 receiver (70 wats per channel) and will probably upgrade in the near future to a Denon or Marantz 90W to 100W receiver. What is the minimum needed...
I didnt get a good chance to listen to the monitor 5's with the CC370. I assume they match very well with each other. I did get to listen to the monitor 7's and the CC370 and liked it alot.
I have a set of Def Techs BP6's/LCR 2300 center and a set of B&W 602'3/LCR600 center at home. After some side by side comparison I am going with the B&W. While I liked the Def Techs a lot, the bookshelf size of the 602's works better and more importantly I thought the LCR600 sounded better then...
I was looking at the 600 series B&W speakers over the weekend. The dealer indicated they cant come down from the "list prices" on B&W speakers like they could on similiar Klipsch or Def Techs that they sell. The dealer claimed B&W pricing is the same as list. Has anyone had any similar...
I started a previous thread about speakers and ear pain and it receved some good responses. WayneO mentioned the idea of metal tweeters as a cause of pain which I have heard before. However, are there any speakers made these days that do not have some sort of metal tweeter??
I have been on the speaker purchase circuit and noticed my ears hurting. Granted the volume has been turned up and down to test the speakers but is their a certain speaker design/material that might make the sound coming out more sensitive to ones hearing than others?? I though I read...
Is timbre matching a real plus or just good marketing by the speaker manufactures? In review of a lot of the the mid priced speakers (Boston, Paradigm etc, etc ) they all tout buying center speakers to match their front speakers. And they all have a long list of floor and bookshelf speakers to...
