I have moved my Dish Network "super-dish" from my old house to my new house. I have installed it on the south facing wall and found the angles to point the dish. I used a compass to find the azimuth direction, the others are marked on the dish. I cannot get a signal at all. I did point it...
My father is building a house with a 20' x 30' movie theater room. He was talking to someone at Bang & Olufsen system with a projector, speakers and a computer controlled system for about $65,000. I figured if most of us here was given $65,000 to build a system, it would be very nice. He...
The Denon website does show specs for both the 3803 and 3805 receivers. The new AVR-3805 adds Dolby Digital IIx (turns stereo into 5.1 or 7.1 surround), more power (120w per channel), a better amp, an input for a microphone that will automatically "calibrate" your speakers and an auto...
Sorry, I have never heard these speakers. But, if you check the Amazon website for the s312 speakers, they are on sale. It is advertised on HTF website also.
Thanks for the info guys. BTW Brent and Drew, I live in Colorado now, but grew up in Faribault, MN. I have noticed alot of people from both states on HTF.
I would try putting the receiver lower in the rack, because the hot air mainly comes from the receiver and if it is lower, it will be in cooler air. Maybe postion the fans towards the top and suck the hot air out.
I just purchased a SVS PB2+ also. So, you would recommend the setup that you have now (speakers, receiver and sub)? I have not listened to the Polk speakers yet other than the in-wall speakers, but have ruled out in-wall speakers for my home theater.
What do you think of the hype that has been written about the receiver, and has it lived up to your expectations? Or, would you prefer another receiver now that you own it? How about some pros and cons... The Denon AVR-3805 is at the top of my list to listen to and possibly buy. But, I...
I agree with the above posts. It comes with a "new item" warranty, can't beat that for refurb. Is the price that much lower than other internet electronics stores. If yes, then get it. I have had alot of good luck with eBay. Never have I gotten an item that didn't work, plus its from HK...
My room is about 250 sq ft. It is open to the dining room and the kitchen area. It has a vaulted ceiling and two large windows on the opposite side of the room. The PB2+ is more than enough sub to get the bass that I need. I walk around the house and the pictures are rattling on the wall...
I have just read the new Sound & Vision mag. It has some info on the 2004 CES where the Harman Kardon AVR 7300 had a breif article on it:
No release date in the magazine. Could be interesting if the price comes down.
The Harman Kardon is hard to find to listen to. I checked a few local shops and Circuit City. Circuit City say they sell it for $1799, but it is not in stock. Again reinforcing the idea of the CC saleperson didn't care or doesn't realize how much you can get one for. I told him I could find...
Thanks for the info. I will check those two cable manufacturers. I might be able to run conduit. That would be a good idea if it will fit in my 2x4 wall. I do have a little space behind the wall where the insulation is. I am also considering making "pillars" in the corner of our HT...
Which model are you looking for? For $400 you can get the Klipsch RF-15s (pair) Just search Froogle.com or Pricgrabber. Where do you live? City/State? Look at AV123.com or AxiomAudio.com These speakers are direct from the company. They have now middle man/retail price mark up. Just...
DVI is a consideration. I would like to have inputs into the projector from a satellite receiver, s-vhs maybe. Those would be s-video though. Not sure which projector yet. Still doing homework on those.
I am building my basement and would like to run a component video cable thru the ceiling to where our future projector will be. I have found a 25' and a 100' component cable on the internet. Will the video degrade after a certain length? I think 25' should be enough to go up the wall and...
The Denon 3805 will be $1049 and up. I've seen the Harman Kardon 7200, Denon AVR-3803 and the Yamaha RX-V2400 for about $750 - $790. If you want features and THX, go with the Yamaha. If you want power, go for the HK 7200. I would suggest listening to all of them, then decide...
OMG, I was trying to find pictures and info on the RX-V2400. It's almost impossible to find. I did a search on the RX-V2400, and it said the model number must be incorrect. Hmmmm????
I am new to the idea of seperates. Fill me in on some info: 1. What are the benifits? 2. Do you still have all of the features that a stand alone receiver would have? Give me an idea of some setups that would work well together. Thanks
I agree with Anthony & Rich. We moved into our house in Oct. 2001. We are just getting started on our basement now. We spent about $2000 on window coverings, and another $3000 on the backyard landscaping...doing everything myself. A new house is a never ending "battle" of upkeep and...
Radio Shack SPL Meter: Digital Display Sound Level Meter Looks like they are out of stock online, but at least you know what you are looking for. Not a bad price : $49.99
Would there be a problem putting the rear center at the same height as the surrounds. I would also think that the hieght of the front center would come into play also. I would experiment a little and see what sounds best to you. If you are calibrating, try it in a few different positions...
I hear an echo...
What is the going price on the 3805? Will it be msrp? I am very interested in how they perform. And...will the upgrades on the 3805 be worth the extra couple hundred dollars compared to the 3803?
