Lumenlabs homemade projector. Scam or worth it?

This projector supposedly shines a bright light THROUGH the lcd portion of a 15" XGA monitor, with fresnels and whatnot. Some of the testimonials in the forums seem pretty promising. They even have project logs. Lots of work, yes...which I dont' mind because I love projects like that. Lots of...

New home, no drywall, help me wire the house

Well, we went shopping for stuff for the project saturday. Got a Yamaha 5790 (I think) receiver, with two zones. Zone 1 will be the surround sound, and zone two will go to a 6 room speaker selector...we've cut down our room choice to of course fit on the 6 channel selector. We got a Monster...

New home, no drywall, help me wire the house

Sounds good....so in regards to wiring...what should I do? I take it splicing teh Zone B output to a series of control and volume control sliders on the wall for each room would be a bad idea?

New home, no drywall, help me wire the house

Thanx, good points too. I'll address the last point first. He's a home builder...he's VERY stingy with his money...he cuts corners for everything. He retracted the balance controls for every room...he just wants to be able to control the balance for each room individually, which I misread...

New home, no drywall, help me wire the house

Hi all! The guy who built my house is building one for himself, and he doesn't want to pay for a professional audio installation, he just wants me to help him plan the perfect pre-wiring setup for his floorplan. First off, here's the floorplan...

Home Theater Living Room Configuration help (pics)

Gary I thought about that too...I agree...Problem is, all the wires that are pre-wired go to the access panel already where the tv is currently...I'd have to move all of them...yuck.

    New Website is up!

sounds like a good idea...but what I meant was that its rare to even find a house WITH a basement around here...you have to go a little further away from the gulf I think before ya start seeing basements as regular features of houses. I wish I had a basement though...I'd have fun with it. I do...

Should rear surrounds both have same length of wire?

my house came pre-wired to the ceiling wiring blocks for surround sound...I don't know how long the cable is, but I'm sure its NOT all the same length for the pairs...I'm guessing the length of wire from wiring block/terminal to the back of my mounted speakers doesn't matter either?

    Remote Controlled Light?

If you're electonically inclined you may be able to build a circuit yourself...I've seen some simple infrared remote circuits on some PC modding forums like bit-tech for example...most of them consist of remote on/off for a pc which MAY be able to be modified for a remote light switch. You could...
