I have a few episodes of this series from original broadcast (taken from 16mm). The opening titles are original and correct. The only time "The All New Super Friends Hour" title pic was shown was when the show entered or exited commercial breaks. These episodes are uncut.
When I was a kid at the theatre, I swear there was a ROCKY IV teaser. I've never seen it since, but would love to just to prove it actually existed! The only thing I remember is it had Dolph Lundgren as Ivan Drago in silhouette intercut with scenes of Rocky boxing. Ivan Drago had dialogue...
1. Get a Life with Chris Elliott This should be out already. Clear up the legal issues and move forward already. 2. Welcome Back Kotter (Season Sets) 3. Batman This set would make enough for both WB and FOX to be happy.
If this is true, then I could live without the commmentary. It would haunt me to no end, but at least I'd have the episodes uncut and in perfect condition.
Of course, this is assuming Mirkin wants more money to appear in the commentaries and featurette and not the actual episodes.
I can...
Would Rhino possibly be causing the legal issue? If so, they had their chance to offer season sets.
Whatever the cause, I can only hope it is resolved soon. Just knowing that there is some Chris Elliott commentary waiting to be heard is making this wait unbearable.
Is the deleted scene where the Devil Flanders uses Homer's head like a bowling ball on this set?? I looked for it but can't find it. Obviously I'm talking about the Treehouse of Horror episode.
Can anyone confirm that this has new commentaries on II through V? It's only a little over a week until this comes out, but most places only list new High Def transfers and 5.1 remixes.
I have to believe that GAL was in the top five. There was a thread where everybody posted what they voted for and GAL had numerous votes. If this is any indication of the populace as a whole, we might just get these.
I'm still hoping the music rights aren't a hold up...
Get a Life all the way. I can see some of the shows listed having another shot at DVD in the future (it's only a matter of time for Diff'rent Strokes, Facts of Life, and Jeannie). But Get a Life is such an obscure show, I think this may be the last chance to have it done right.
I would like to see a release of two volumes, each having 3 discs, 6 episodes per disc with the last disc having only 5 eps plus extra features (or spread them out, doesn't matter). The ultimate would be commentaries with Elliott and Mirkin. I hope it's just a waiting game.
Commentaries would be a dream! I would imagine Chris Elliott would be up for it. He seems like a pretty decent fellow. They could even put that pilot on there, the one Mirkin talked about on GAL vol 2, Jeff of the Universe. There are so many possibilities for this set, it would be a shame if...
When Rhino initially released the first DVD of this series, I snatched it up as quickly as I could. Bootleg versions were the only thing available till then, unless you wanted the cut versions with different music from the USA network. Then there was the long wait for Volume 2, and now...
