I'm currently auditioning the Infinity Alpha 50s and I prefer the mids and base over the more expensive Polk Towers. Polk's highs were perhaps a touch smoother. Rock and Blues had more clean punch on the 50s. Also evalutating Paradigm 40 and 60s and Ohm Micro Towers. Looking for Merlins and NHT...

Great ideas. When we get to evaluating the $1000/pair speakers, please consider the Ohm Micro Towers. Although I realize that a lack of monetary support is available (i.e. none), the tests would be more trustworthy if the speakers were anonymously bought; this would eliminate any special parts...
