Given how TV on DVD and blu-ray is becoming more niche as time goes on due to streaming, THE INVADERS would have to released as a full set of the show for the most sales
I wonder where the 35 mm film negatives would be stored if they still exist and who owns them, and do some film collectors have the original negatives in their collections
I rather have Shout Factory license the movie because I think they will do better with the extras than Paramount now. i hope they get the rights since Scream Factory has got the license to release Event Horizon (and recently Escape from LA).
Also I saw all of The Saint episodes are available...
I think the Kilmer Saint deserves good extras and I think Shout Select would be a good choice to get the title for blu-ray since the original cut of the movie has a climatic sequence cut (plus Elisabeth Shue's character has a different ending than the final version) from the movie and you can...
I think the MeTV masters are based on old copies provided to stations for syndication. The DVDs look better even though Paramount never bothered to clean the show for DVD. I think a small budget to remaster would be sufficient and even scanning the original negatives wouldn't be as costly as...
Since The Invaders was shot in 35mm, it would be a great show to do a HD remaster if the 35mm negatives still exist. They could add teh HD versions to CBS ALL Access (or whatever the new CBS streaming service will be called) and license the blu-ray rights to Kino Lorber (since Kino has...
A little off topic, I hope Shout does get the rights to release The Saint movie on blu-ray because it would make a great movie to release as part of their Shout Selects series.
Getting back to topic, I do wish the color masters used for The Saint were a little better and a good remastering to...
I hope Kino Lorber can go after some of the Paramount titles (make a new deal) that have never seen blu-ray (The Saint, The Ghost and The Darkness) or a proper blu-ray addition (Jade which has never had the unrated cut see DVD or blu-ray)
I bought one of the two copies that my local Best Buy had. The video presentation is pretty good and the sound was clean. I have to go write my review on it. too bad they didn't have any extras on this disc or a proper menu (just a pop-up menu).
I got a Cannon T4i that I'm starting to test the video stuff on and I am about to craft stories for it. I just need to get the flow of the video shooting down like I have with regular picture shooting. I have to find a good freeware video editing program to try out my video editing skills on
I liked the setting and set-up. Other than that, I thought the movie was a disappointment (although I am curious about the alternate ending and the extras)
I like the transfer. I just wish they ported over more of the original extras and had a featurette on the unproduced sequel which a script was written for,
I can't wait to watch this on DVD next week (yes, making the slow transition between DVD and Blu-ray- own titles in both formats). This title intrigues me and thanks for the review. I want to see more foreign sci-fi (I wish someone in the US would release the Swiss sci-fi film, Cargo).
I hope The Specialist has deleted scenes for blu-ray since there were reports they reshot stuff to beef up Stallone and not have people cheering James Woods as much.
It is great news. I love the cut that has been available and the rock music version (which isn't as good as the original score). I can't wait to see the restored version. now only if they can discover missing Doctor Who episodes in South America.
It is sad that Moonlight has been cancelled. The show is good. Too bad many of the CBS promos are so sucky. The problem with Fridays are that they aren't the ratings hit for many shows. Moonlight is a solid show that could hold an audience and maybe even grow in time.
don't forget the four easter eggs hidden in the bonus features menu (one in the dleeted scenes menu). The easter eggs don't add much, but they provide something to find.
I like the first fifteen minutes the ebst and it's all becasue of Marisa Tomei. Still her scenes in the first 15 minutes say a lot about her character and why she does her actions throughout the film.
RayH, I miss the original ending and feel the film did miss some moments. the book is much better than the current theatrical cut. The director did mention he wanted the original ending to open up the second film since it was cut.
I did review Chan volume 4 a few weeks ago- Review- DVD Review: CHARLIE CHAN Collection volume 4 I love the extras on this set, but I wish they could go and animate the missing Chans like an animation company did for the two missing episodes of Doctor Who- The Invasion. It would be a...
TonyD, one easter egg can be found in the set-up menu while the other 10 I found by loading the disc (in Windows Media Player) on the computer's DVD-ROM (and I still haven't found out how to normally access them on a DVD player). A couple of easter eggs are a couple of gag featurettes (We're...
Fox will probably release season 4 sooner or later, but I think they have other things on their minds in the TV on DVD releases. Maybe they got some extra special extras planned given the lack of news (who knows?!). Soone ror later, I might have to awsk Fox Home Entertainment myself on when...
The reviews I have read have skipped on the 11 (or failing to mention 10 of them) easter eggs (which I had to use Windows Media Player to find 10 of them). So far I have been only one that reviewed it to mention all the easter eggs (but who knows I couldalways come across a DVD review that...
I enjoyed this one better than AVP. My views may change on a repeat viewing, but my expectations were low since the first one was my least favorite of the two series.
I'm also waiting for the expanded and revised edition of Future Noir to come out. It looks like it will be coming out in the UK next month. It looks like no US publisher is lined up for the new edition in the USA.
