Does the Blu-Ray have the subtitles for the French-language sections that were missing on the DVD? (I'm not talking about the Blu-Ray having optional SDH subs for the whole film)
I had both the R-Rated DVD & Unrated 2-Disc Collector's Edition DVD of Knocked Up. A little while ago, I bought the Blu-Ray+DVD+Digital Copy combo edition. Last night I went through & documented all the special features on both old DVD editions and compared them to the Blu-Ray to make sure...

WA doesn't have a perfect record as they used the American dub for the audio for Performance, an error which they started to acknowledge and then have totally clammed up about. They even continue to delete inquiries about this on their Facebook page.
So it sounds like, from what you're saying, is that there isn't a single setting that will play all discs correctly?
"Direct" is correct for everything except mono
"DPL" is correct for mono (and special cases like the Criterion Three Colors)
?
Something you've alluded to confuses me. If HDMI...
Hello,
I'm looking for some information & advice about what settings to use with my new Onkyo HT-R2295 receiver. I have a Playstation 3 & a Seiki Blu-Ray player set to Region B. Most of the discs I have played since getting the receiver have been DTS-HDMA 5.1 tracks & I had the receiver on a...
If you click the Details tab on the product page for the Blu-Rays, each lists DTS HD-Master Audio 2.0 in the specs.
Also, WB, please bring on Brewster McCloud!!!
Is the video 1080p or 1080i? The back cover states 1080p, but DVDBeaver's review said it was 1080i (although as much as I like that site, it's prone to a lot of typos).
It was filmed in & around Austin, Texas. A Perfect World has a special place in my heart as the first film for which I, as a young aspiring actor, ever went to a casting call.
Have you tried contacting Twilight Time themselves through their Facebook page? http://www.facebook.com/twilighttimemovies They're pretty responsive to the posts there.
I had the same thing happen with The House Of The Devil. On my parents' Insignia Blu-Ray player, it had extremely harsh noise in many scenes, but on my PS3 it looked perfectly fine.
I haven't had a chance to actually watch the film yet, but I just discovered that the "modern" trailer that was an easter egg on the previous DVD set has been carried over to the Blu-Ray. If you go to the special features menu, highlight the commentary & press "left," a horseshoe icon appears...
I saw a 35mm print of TWOK at the Alamo Drafthouse about a week after the JJ Abrams film was released. The print was a brand new print struck from the restoration that was used for the Blu-Ray & had the blue shift in the color timing. I think it was something that Nick Meyer had done during...
This also happened on my parents' Insignia player. The skips occur at points where the "Extraction Mode" branching segments would play, even if you aren't watching it with "Extraction Mode."
Don't forget John's son Danny. Just in the past few years, he's put in good performances in Children Of Men, The Proposition, Edge Of Darkness, Robin Hood, The Constant Gardener, 21 Grams, Birth, & The Aviator among other films.
The problems with that some people are experiencing are truly a system issue, not a disc issue, in my experience. I just watched my Criterion Blu-Ray I bought during the B&N sale last November. I watched it the first time at my parents' house on their Insignia Blu-Ray player/Mitsubishi HDTV...
Why is the Blu-Ray missing so many bonus features? It shouldn't be because of space issues...it's a relatively short film on a BD-50. Please don't shortchange us, Universal.
Universal is being very frustrating on this front for several titles: Waterworld didn't include the extended cut that was recently released on DVD, Apollo 13 is not including the IMAX cut, Dune is not including the extended cut, "Pirate Radio" is not including The Boat That Rocked UK cut; it's...
Can someone who has the US Blu-Ray release & has watched it please state for the record whether it is the US theatrical version or the extended European cut? I have heard conflicting reports & would like to know since I am interested in picking this up since Fry's has it for $12.99.
