I don't know where you can get the sony sa-wx-700 for less than $200 but I bought the sony sa-wx-500 12" 150 watts for $200 at best buy. You can get the 500 for about $130 online but I didn't feel like waiting. I'm no stereophile but I'm very pleased with the 500.
Ok I'm getting a about 10db loss on my surrounds compared to the mains . They are the same speakers, I'm using all stereo mode however the length of 16 gauge wire is about 35' compared to 8' for the mains same gauge. Can that length result in a close to 10 db loss?
No I didn't use the spl meter when I say even I meen by the volume setting for each speaker . These are regular music cds I use the dsp all stereo mode and the surrounds just sound lower than the mains. The receiver is the jvc rx8030vbk. speakers are klipsch sb3.1's.

Why does the sound come out of the surrounds lower in volume than the mains ? I have all speakers set to small. I can even it out by using each speakers volume adjustment but if the distance between you and surrounds and mains are even shouldn't the sound be the same volume ? I'm trying do...

I just got into HT. I bought the JVC 8030vbk receiver and a sony sa wm500 subwoofer. I also have a pair of klipsch sb3.1's No center speaker yet. However I would like to add surround speakers now. Should I get klipsch sb1's or B&W's 600's ? I really don't want to spend more than $300 US...
