I have for sale one JBL N-Center and six JBL N-24II bookshelf speakers that were used in a 7.1 system. All speakers are in mint condition and they were used in my HT for about a year. I have four wall-mounts for the N24II's that will be included. Pictures are available. Asking $200.00 shipped...
I have for sale a Onkyo M-282 2 ch. Amp (2x100 watts). It is in perfect condition. I was using it to power my JBL E20's. I liked this amp so much I decided to move up to a 7 channel amp. Included is the original box, manual, and power cord. Asking $175.00 shipped. PM me or email me at...
Chris PC - Please keep us posted about the QS8's. I have the same problem you do with a lack of "spaciousness". I have monopoles (JBL N24's as surrounds). I have been researching almost the same speakers, PSB Alpha S vs. Axiom QS4. I am leaning towards the axioms just because I can't seem to...
Ah, the BFD. What a marvelously confusing peice of gear to use to e.q. a sub! :) I have a BFD in my system with an SVS 22-31PCi and it took me about 5 hours (and a lot of luck) to get a nice flat response. See link: http://groups.msn.com/RobsXterra/sub...to&PhotoID=586 Read and re-read the...
My guess is that you are not getting the signal from the satellite, you are picking up the signal from a terrestrial (sp?) repeater. Check the signal meter in your unit, and it will tell you whether you are picking up the satellites or a repeater. It is not unusual to get a signal in some...
"What is the difference between Creepy and Scary... Michael Jackson and Joan Rivers." Ernest - you nailed that perfectly! :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup:
Hey Ryan, lets see what we can do for you. Okay....this calibration/EQ stuff is harder than I thought. Every time I do it, I learn something different and realized what I had done in the past might be wrong. Not neccesarily wrong, there are many ways of doing the same thing. Are you using...
Thanks Ryan! The hardest part about that curve was getting some quiet time away from the wife and kids! Go for it (you know you want to!:D ) and make sure you post your curve!!
I have always had that dip at 111Hz. Maybe it is Sonnie's software. I added a filter at 111Hz and there was no change so I figured it was a null. I will do a measurement this weekend and manually add the correction to see what I come up compared to Sonnie's spreadsheet.
This is what I ended up with: Sub curve I never realized how good this sub could truly sound until I eq'd it with the BFD. I must admit that I would not have gotten anywhere without Sonnie Parker's BFD setup guide (or as I call it, the BFD bible). Now I have a good amount of rumble, my mains...
Did you put the lamp in yourself or did the projector come with it installed? The reason I ask this is because some bulbs you should not touch with your fingers. The oils in your fingers could cause the bulb to bubble in the spot it was touched and that could cause it to explode. Maybe the Benq...
I used 12 gauge wire for my HT and my xbox setup and everything sounds great. I have a 35 foot RCA sub cable from bettercables for my HT and am using a radio shack RCA sub cable for my gaming system.
You pretty much nailed all the things you need to get up and running. As for the difference between optical and coax. It really does not matter, they both sound the same. Gaming in 5.1 is incredible. It adds a whole new layer to the games!! :)
Hey david*mt - The question for you is how does your setup sound to you? If you like your 6.1 setup and it you have no problems, I would leave well enough alone. Hope that helps.
LOTR:FOTR:EE - The cave troll. That whole scene has all kinds of surround effects that will impress. Particular moments: when the cave troll is roaring before it enters the tomb. You hear the sound behind you in relation to the action on the screen. Also when the troll swings his leash at...
I have a Pioneer 811 and a two channel amp. What you need to do is get some RCA cables. Hook them to the pre-outs on back of your receiver. Make sure you put them in the pre out not the 5.1 input (for sacd etc.) Hook the appropriate preout to the the amp input - ex. front right preout rca...
Hey Marcel_V - Not trying to be a smart@ss, but have you tried moving your sub away from the rptv? Don't you think that if your rptv mirror was rattling the picture be distorted on the set as well? I would guess it is just the plastic housing on back of the set. It might be worth the...
Having heard a $3000 Bose system, (that was blown away by my $300 JBL Northridge setup) I would heartily recommend anything (including white van speakers :D) over Bose. I have not heard the Pinnacle system so I can't help you there but I have heard Bose properly setup in a HT and was NOT impressed.
The JBL Northridge series is a good choice. I am running a 7.1 system with JBL N24's all around. :emoji_thumbsup: When you say big screen tv, what size are you talking about? Personally, if my room would let me I would go with a projector. I have a 48 inch rptv that works great in my HT but...
I would not recommend putting components on top of an RPTV. The most weight I would put on top would be a center speaker. You might want to get a board or a piece of glass to spread the weight of the center speaker to keep the screen from bowing in the middle. As for the components, is there...
Allen, A proper 6.1 setup consists of three main speakers up front, two side surrounds and a rear surround (or two for 7.1). You seem to want to put the rear surround in between the side surrounds on the back wall. If you can, put the side surrounds to the side and 2-3 feet above your...
