Jean, I'm interested in what you think of the HT package. I've got a buddy that had his house broken into about 2 months ago. They took all of his HT including the TV But left his reciever and the sub.... :frowning: This would be a good way to get him back into HT now that he has another 32" tv.
Thanks for clearing that up. The reciever I am using probably only puts out maybe 50w max, I know low end stuff is always over rated lol. I'll give it a go with them wired at 16 ohms. As long as it's audible it's loud enough for her lol.. I ordered the drivers today. I'll let everyone know how...
I was thinking the same at first but, with the low power handling of these cheap drivers I figured it wouldn't effect their output. Correct me if i'm wrong though :)
Sorry, I didn't think about it being a multi-material hole saw. I paid $15 for a 3" one at Home Depot but, I used it on my pc case for some 80mm fans. Harbor Freight will be your cheapest way out though, without a doubt. Kenneth Harden, I'm really not wanting to run 4 drivers per enclosure...
Do you know of anyone that has a router or maybe a jigsaw? That $18 hole saw is going to be your cheapest way out if you have a drill and no other tools. I'm about to build a Tempest powered with a 250w PE plate amp so I went and picked up my old man's table saw and router/table. I've managed...
Well, Now that the tennis balls worked you can pick up some spikes or, the vibrapods that Bradz is talking about. I have't used anything for my sub it just sits in the corner of the living room next to a chair. Sorry, I can't help you with the doors though. Good luck!
I have used a cat5 crossover cable coming out of oneof my ethernet cards on my pc. My brother sold his xbox for a game cube but, I still use the homemade crossover for my PS-2.
Spikes are like little cone shaped legs to get your sub off the floor. Here's a link - partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&User_ID=17548680&St=8778&St2=-71573558&St3=47419662&DS_ID=3&Product_ID=121980&DID=7 I can't add links yet so put the http//www You could also try cutting two tennis balls in...
I think it would be tough to have a sub in an apartment. I know that if you put your hand on the exterior bricks of my house you can feel vibrations when it's turned up to the level that I watch movies with. I would look into isolating the sub from the ground with some spikes like mentioned...
Any places that you purchase from would help. I'm tired of going to best buy to look at HT stuff. As a start though I am going to build a DIY sub soon. I currently have a sony 12" 120w active woofer and it is a little weak imo for my setup.
I have been into HT for a few years now but I never thought to look up anything on the internet. I was wondering if you guys could help me out with a list of wholesale shops that you use. I have seen parts express but, I was wondering if there are any others that you prefer. Thanks, Billy
