XBOX 360 Limited Edition Modern Warfare

Zack, I totally agree with you. I have no idea what you all mean by HD when it comes to this box. I will get the limited addition for all the reasons you mentioned. Its all over priced, but that is the great thing about capitalism. Its only worth what people (idiots like me) will pay for...

XBOX 360 Limited Edition Modern Warfare

I have a PS3 and love it. I am finally setting up the dedicated theater room and I have some nice, very hi end, equipment that should do the gaming stations some justice. I don't have an XBOX yet and thought I should do it, so I have it all. Does anyone know if the Limited Edition will have...

    mp3 player with digital out?

Does anyone make an mp3 player with a digital out? I will be using it with my home theater equipment more than anything else and would like it to hook up to my processor digitally. If not, what player has the best out and sound. Price is not an issue. I am looking to buy one that will...

    Another receiver vs separates questions.

Paul S. After much debate and research I ended up with the new Rotel 1068. I know everybody says it, but now I know it to be true. IMO there is no A/V receiver out there that can do what a pre-pro and amp can do. In my home the difference was well worth the investment. What made the...

    Acurus vs. Parasound

Kevin- I get your point. I guess we agree to disagree? I have checked out most if not all of the amps you listed. I personally was taken back by how great Parasound treated me. Not to say that some people may have had problems, but I know I was treated like a king.

    Acurus vs. Parasound

Kevin, Speaking from experience and working directly with Parasound on a problem, their customer support is and was amazing. Not to many places give you an emial response with a follow up phone call when you have a problem. This was just a few hours after I had emailed. And they took care of it.

    Acurus vs. Parasound

Bill, I just picked up a 2205. It really sounds good. Feels like there is no limit to the power. Im currently looking for the right prepro to match. You can not go wrong with the Parasound. FWIW, the Parasound seems to have a good warm feel for music and plenty of power for theater. Acurus...

Newbie needs opinions for prepro and amp..

I could not agree more with Mike. You are making a major investment so try the product out. Take the info you learn here and then let YOUR ears decide. You may want to look into the new stuff from Sherwood Newcastle. It is said to be out by mid-february. You can also do better with B stock from...

Receiver Recommendations with Paradigm Monitor 7

Randy Im currently running the 7's, CC 370 and B&W LM1 for rears. Current receiver is a Pioneer 36tx. Good warm sound and ran well with the Paradigm's. Have recently upgraded with a Parasound HCA2205 amp (220w x 5) and using the Pioneer as the processor. Hopefully that will end soon as I will...

    Creatine and Carbs

One of the great misconceptions about creatine is that it is a supplement. It is not. Creatine is a transporter. And in particular it helps the body transport protein more efficiently. That is why some people gain weight when they use it and some people will actually lose weight. Those loosing...

Need Home Theater Audio Advice/Opinions... Newbie here!

Sean, Good to see you. Lets make sure we are not confusing terms. Crossover is different than phase control. The easiest way to explain phase control and what it does is tell you it controls the bass waves. Your main speakers are sending out bass waves and you do not want your sub to fight...

Need Home Theater Audio Advice/Opinions... Newbie here!

Jamie, I will let someone else chime in on the Polk's. Personally I have never been a real fan of there low end, but their higher end has sounded pretty good. IM a little bias to the brands that are not so name recognized. I think there are better out there for the money, but again I...

Need Home Theater Audio Advice/Opinions... Newbie here!

would it be my preference to get them closer? Yes, but if your room does not allow that is why you have the ability to set each speaker distance. What speaker you decide to go with will help as well. Single pole or bi-pole. I would suggest bi-pole. Go to the speaker forum and search the...

When does the NEW Sherwood prepro hit the Streets??

OAAAAAKHHHHHHH Jeff, Dude whats up with titanium. If you made it in black IM sure it would be cheaper. Titanium is so expensive. DUH, of course I know its not REAL titanium. A little disappointed. Black never gets old and out dated. 5.1 analog inputs for SACD/DVD-A?

Need Home Theater Audio Advice/Opinions... Newbie here!

Jamie, Your question about your rear surrounds. The receiver will take into effect the distance differences. Basically that setting is giving you the proper delays for surround sound. After you set the distance you will then need to calibrate with the SPL meter from Radio Shack. This is a...

    Another receiver vs separates questions.

Ed, The difference is night and day. Amps inside receivers are very underrated. When you go with a separate amp you are using equipment that has been designed, in most cases by a company that does exactly that. Amps. I swore I would never go separate. A receiver was going to do all I needed...
