I hate to ask - when will here be some more DirecTV HD channels?

The amount of available content as compared to the amount of content actual broadcast via sattelite and cable sucks. OLN as previously mentioned has a lot of their shows in HD. HD bass fishing would be the ultimate for me!:D

    Simpsons Season 7 artwork

That kind of stinks. I didn't know about the digipack mailer from the last one. I got Homer's head, and bought Marge's head this time. Sure would be cool to be able to put the disks in a box, and display all of the heads somehow.

please help me pick a CRT RPTV

Alright I have been doing tons of research, and have decided that the ol' CRT RPTV is still the best choice for my needs. I am looking to purchase one in the 57" size this weekend. Finding info on these is getting harder and harder it seems. I will be using it for 480p DVDs and 720p X-Box games...

Cool. I will probably buy this one. I remember when it aired, and really liked the show.

    Special features

I haven't really cared about special features all that much in the past. They still have no bearing on my purchases. I, as some of the others mentioned, care more about the show's quality and completeness. Having said that, lately I am watching more of the features. The extras and commentaries...

Know of a 13" inch tv better than Sony trinitron?

I have been happy with my small Toshiba in the kitchen. It has a flat tube and looks great.

New Content Mgmt Tech May Limit Our DVD Usage...

I am not worried in the least. DIVX sucked wind. I believe any further attempts at the same thing would have the same result.

    What's going on with Oz?

I love the show too. I just fear that the DVD sales will peter out before all the seasons are released. The last two seasons weren't that great really anyway, but the completist in me wants them all!

    Remembering Z Channel, ONTV, SelecTV

Ah yes. ONTV. ONTV gave me my first viewing of Star Wars as a young boy and my first viewing of boobies.:D

SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS: 2-Disc OCTOBER 12TH

Good news. I can hardly wait for this release. I am quickly losing movie titles not on DVD to complain about.:D

Buck Rogers in the 21st Century

Yep. I will be buying this for sure. BR is my first TV recollection pretty much, next to Mr. Rogers, and Sesame Street. I loved the show.

CSI: Miami - Careful when opening

The first disc holder in mine was cracked. The disc is fine, but it still irritated me.

    FYI "American Chopper" season sets

I am tempted as well. A $50 price point would be an instant sell. They need to get there stuff into the BB's and CC's of the world though.

DVD Review HTF REVIEW: "Planet of the Apes 35th Anniversary Edition" (screenshots)

Well I already got this today. I have the original box set, and look forward to the anamorphic transfer. Zooming the old version did not look to bad really. I hope the re-release all of these. I will buy them one at a time if need be. I like the POTA films better than Star Wars or LOTR. They are...

I think my biggest binge was around $400 on a whole buttload of movies.

DVD Review HTF REVIEW: Annie: Special Anniversary Edition

This is very disapointing to me. A movie that relies on choreography such as this one is just a joke when you can only see less than half of the numbers. I wouldn't touch this release with a 10' pole. Sickening.

A better future for TV shows on DVD? :)

To me it is a good thing if the TV seasons are spread out a bit. I can only buy so many DVDs in a given time period. Byannual releases for shows I like allow me to buy more series while not going into the poorhouse.

Any DVD news on the classic movie: Bad Santa?

I thought he was kidding with the whole classic thing. Funny movie it was, but calling it a classic borders on being offensive.:D

Strange resolution problem with non-anamorphic DVDs ... help!

I would bet that the processor in the DVD player is causing the problems, especially since you are zooming it. The player is having to process this, and it just might not be to great at it. Just a thought. I have never seen a Jaton player before.

Crimson Tide and Enemy of the State SEs due 5/4 (but POSTPONED)

With my new HDTV the prospect of all the double dipping for anamorphic transfers coming my way horrifies me. It seems it may be worse than the VHS to DVD conversion.:frowning:
