What components will I need for a basic bookshelf system?

I have another quick question. If a bookshelf speaker has a 6 inch woofer with a midrange and a tweeter why would I need to get a subwoofer to go with it? Wouldn’t the 6 inch woofer built into the speaker be sufficient?

What components will I need for a basic bookshelf system?

Would I be able to get better sound out of a Klipsch 2.1 system instead of a comparably priced mini system? For some reason I thought that the Klipsch 2.1 would be a better overall choice but maybe I’m wrong. Thanks again for your help.

What components will I need for a basic bookshelf system?

Thanks for your reply Bob. After doing a little more research it looks as though a bookshelf system will be out of my price range so I’m leaning more towards the Klipsch Promedia 2.1. I know that this probably won’t be the best sounding speaker system but I don’t really need anything too fancy...

What components will I need for a basic bookshelf system?

I have no experience at all with any form of speaker systems so please be patient with me since I probably will ask some very basic questions. Ok, with that being said I’m looking into getting a good sounding system that will only be used to play music in our family room. Our family only listens...

Would my subwoofer give me better performance if I set it on a piece of wood?

Right now I just have my down firing subwoofer sitting on the carpet but I’m wondering if it would give me better sound if I put it on a piece of ply wood or something hard so the carpet wouldn’t absorb the sound. Could you tell me what you think about this idea and if you think it would work...

Has anyone gone to a THX certified theater?

I was very disappointed when I went to watch the Return of the King in our local theater. The speaker system and the projector were not the best quality. I would like to see it again only in a THX certified theater but the closest one to us is an hour away and I’m trying to decide if it’s worth...

Is there a CD player for sale that’s less then $50?

Well I guess it’s not made just for computers but I think that’s the main use for it. What do you mean by “The cheapest CD player made”?

Is there a CD player for sale that’s less then $50?

Sorry about that I’m very new to speaker systems and all of the home theater stuff. What I’m trying to do is get a good CD player for under $150 to replace our boom box. It looks like with computer speakers you get can get some very good systems for a lot lest then say your standard book shelf...

Is there a CD player for sale that’s less then $50?

Hi, I was wandering if there are any CD readers under $50 that you can use with a speaker system such as an Altec Lansing ATP3. What I would like to do is buy a CD reader and hook it up to either bookshelf speakers to or a surround sound speaker system to use in the family room. I would only be...
