Well after doing all I can to fix this, I can say that it's not going to go away. Red push, CUE, and EE are nothing compared to phosphor lag. Me neither since I live in Canada :) The point is that they are still around so even if retailers are listing them as "out of print" it shouldn't be too hard to find through mail order.

They're still on the shelves in DVD shops in Japan. A friend of mine picked up a copy for me the other day at a local store.

Actually I have my contrast set as best I can with DVE. I'll try turning the contrast ("Picture" setting I think) down even more and see what happens. Thanks.

Toshiba SD4900 dvd player. There's barely any info on this player out there. Haven't been able to find a good review, only a few conflicting opinions from unknown sources.

"No aspect ratio control, which is somewhat odd." I was just playing with one at the store and in the menu there were 3 different settings. 2 different 4:3 options (can't remember what they were) and 16:9. Is this considered aspect ratio control or no? Thanks for the input!
