    LG 50PB4D

Hey, noob here and I am sure I'm not searching properly but I cannot find any results on my tv. It's an LG 50PB4D Plasma. Just trying to find some user feedback. I like the tv and it suits my needs but I want to learn more and get the most from it. I did find some other comments on the web. They...

$3000 is the budget, looking for something in the 53 to 57 inch range.

Are you set on an aspect ratio? Does it HAVE to be widescreen? What are the dimensions of your viewing area? I have the Philips 60", HD compatible, 4:3 set. I did some real "soul-searching" and realized that widescreen was not a good fit for my home. I paid about 1499 at Costco last...

    Philips 60PP9202 Review

Hey Steve, I think you will like this TV. As you mention, you have many older movies that are in 4:3 ratio and they will be huge on this set. I watch newer DVDs in the correct aspect and even my wife loves it (she was never big on home theater stuff but now is). Our set is primarily used for...

    Philips 60PP9202 Review

John, I initially had that thought but decided to leave it on. I have a 4 yr old and I'm just waiting for him to unload something right smack into the screen.:frowning: I know I'll have a cow and I just need to remember, he's only 4 and being a normal boy. So far he's been really good about not...

    Philips 60PP9202 Review

Sorry, I should've been more clear. There's a window behind the viewing area and it currently has wood blinds. This is the source of the glare I mentioned. I just need to address that 1 window. The other 2 windows and the sliding glass door are non-issues.

    Philips 60PP9202 Review

John S knows this already but I thought I would add my comments too. I have the same set and am very pleased as well. But I'll add that its like having 2 TVs. 1 during the daytime and a totally different one at night. I have a lot of glare that I have to deal with that really takes away from...

    Got my new HDTV

I saw that you have the Zenith OTA HD tuner. I had not considered getting one anytime soon but the more I think about it, I probably will in the next 2-3 months. I'm sure there are more complicated or tweek-able sets out there but I felt this one was just fine for me. I share your thoughts on...

    Got my new HDTV

John, I got the same TV last week (its my first big screen). I'll be watching to see how your set up goes. I'm very technically minded but have not messed with TVs at all. I work on MRI scanners and other Diagostic Imaging equipment. So any tips you could send my way on this set would be...

Which HDTV to buy? Hitachi or Sony? Advice?

I saw these 2 TV's side by side at a local retailer and they are both great sets. However, when viewing broadcast programming, the Hitachi was superior IMO when modifying the 4:3 picture to fit the screen. I also kind of think that Sony is a bit overrated. And as far as Toshiba goes, I have...

    16:9 -vs- 4:3 screen format re-visited

John S, I am probably going to buy this same TV. I look forward to hearing how you like it. Please post with info when you get yours. Also, where did you get it online?
