So, to start off, for those shopping for a first HT, an explanation of how I got this for $450. I won the receiver, but I've seen it for $199 online. The Pioneer DV-563a I got on Ebay new in the box for $158 shipped. I got the Polk RM6005 Center and 4 Sats for $160 on ebay, too. Also new...
What's the max? 8.1? I'm designing a dedicated home theater room and I've got this vision of a circular area with an arsenal of small speakers wrapping around it.
Just looking at the Dolby.com website and noticed the movie dubbing studio drawing. I counted 15 speakers. Is this doable with home equipment? What does it take?
I have a Fender Strat and I'm wondering if it is possible to connect it to my Harman Kardon 125. Can I kill the reciever? Can I listen to myself through in glorious 5.1 while trying to jam with the late great Roy Buchanan? If it is possible, what cables/accessories do I need? :star:
Pioneer DV-563a DVD Xbox 27" tv with S-video Digital Cable with analog outs HK 125 receiver I'd like to get the Xbox looking and sounding as good as possible...as well as movies, dvd-a, and sacd. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Tempting,
but I'm still going to wait until the good stuff comes down to $1000...
I bet a year from now you'll be able to buy a 50" LCD
thin wall hanging set for $1000 (I hope).
Right now, I'm willing to watch my 27" 'unflat', 'unhanging on the wall', 'un HD', TV.
The Pioneer dv-563a plays SACD AND DVD-A, as well as the other run of formats (cd-r, and so on) I got mine for 139.99 on ebay. This dvd player has gotten rave reviews on this forum
Ahhh.... That explains why no one replies to my topics.... You guys have already exausted my questions! This forum is the national directory of audio/video. :star:
