Put my name on the petition too. I can't see how the footage could be destroyed (but then again....). Considering all the footage for film 1 was stored at Pinewood, and I expect 2 and 3 as well, the footage for 4 could be there as well.
I had a frame glitch (at the point where the Star Destroyer fires on the Tantive 4), but after I changed my player( a slightly older one), it had gone.

My copy arrived a few minutes ago. So, I'm going to go and get some things to eat whilst I peruse my new purchase. I still can't believe that they are here, the films, finally released on DVD.

As far as I know, it isn't slated for release in the UK yet. I'd say the best bet is to check the forum for The Mausoleum Club. They usually know what's going on.
McGann is not going to be in the new series. They are throwing the Eccleston Doctor in at the deep end, so to speak. Perhaps they might do a flashback later on, to show what happened to cause the regeneration, but they won't be doing it for Episode 1.
