I just upgraded to an Onkyo HT-510 6.1 receiver after years of living with my Sony two-channel set. I'm holding off on the rear speakers until I move because the room set-up makes wiring them difficult. I would, however, like to add a subwoofer and a center channel speaker to my set-up to get...
If eCost ever renews its stock, it should be pointed out that the Onkyo HT-R510 does have component video switching. It has the exact same specs and form factor - including 3 sets of component video inputs - as the 501 except for the added 35 watts/channel.
JandR.com has a refurbished Onkyo HTS760 for $300. Shipping will run about $100 so that leaves you with $200 to spend on a DVD player. You might also want to spend a little on upgrading the speaker wire in the system to 12 gauge.
If you don't want to make the trip to Home Depot (mine didn't have the 12 gauge wire) you can get a 50 foot spool at Cambridge SoundWorks for $14.99 w/free shipping.
You might also want to take a look at the Onkyo HT-510. It has the exact same specs as the TX-SR501 but is rated at 100 watts rather than 65 watts. eCost carries refurbs with a one-year warranty for $149.
