IMHO...according to my experience and the mathematical calculations according to Mr. Murphy (see above links and some other links on that site), you are o.k. to vary the lengths. Now, don;t go extreme..like left channel 50 ft and right 5..LOL :)
Using the Tulult with the VC's wired in series to get a 4ohm load...I see it can handle 800 watts PER coil (1600 watts total)...would my ADCOM GFA555 rated at 850 into 4 ohms bridged mono be able to push this thing effectively your think? Also, with a 22 inch cube..how much bracing would be...
Jason_Me, I appreciate your response..it got me looking into a PR design. I've never done that. I took your statement and tweaked it with 3 PR-18-2500 PR's and the Tulmult in a 25" cube and Nominal filling. WOW...it "looks" great. What say ye?
LOL...How did you guess? No, haven't even looked for the flared ports. I read where someone used 8" PVC. Do I NEED to use flared?...Couldn't I just use straight 8" PVC? You say 6 inches of clearance..are there guidelines?..I haven't found any yet on ports. Was also looking at using elbows in...
O.k fellow DIYer's After much posting and reading (as much as I can on 19200 dialup here in Hawaii)...I have decided to make a Sonotube sub with four Stryke AV15 MKII (thanks John Janowitz). I choose them cause of price and there simulated responses vs other drivers. I considered the Dayton...
John, Thanks for the reply. So if I was going to use 4 drivers (hooked up in a series/parallel setup (to end up with a 4 ohm impedance), I would not have to change anything or check the DVC box. Since they are set up as BOTH coils wired in series as a default...correct? Doug
Could someone help me understand why in Bassbox Pro 6 when I select the Stryke AV15 (4 of them) and check the Dual Voice coil box (it has dual 2 ohm VC's) and wire them in series (series parallel for the drivers) for a end result of 4 ohms, the plot looks different than if I was to leave the...

According to the below links...I get the impression Monste Cable and large AWG wire is really a fad and a waste. What say ye? trueaudio.com/post_009.htm trueaudio.com/post_007.htm
Let me take a newbie's point of view on the above and hopefully someone can critique my observations: The Shiva's cone will exceed recommended cone excursion at about 32 Hz. It's output is approx 111 SPL. The Dayton Titanic MkII has equivilent SPL (since it is modeled off the Shiva), but...
I too am going to embark on the DIY Sub. I will be using the "SonoTubes". I like to call SiloSub!! I was dirrected to the Stryke also, but have been playing with both the Stryke AV15 MKII and the Adire Brahma 15. It "appears" based off Bassbox 6 Pro that the Brahma would work better. I wanted...
