My living room in setup to view TV in the "width" direction, which is only about 14'. Is this enough distance to get a good size 16x9 picture of should I just get the Hitachi 65" rptv?

If you broke a pin on a Monster brand cable they will replace it free of charge. If you live in a rural area where there is little in the way of EFI's then you may not need all the insulation in an expensive cable.

I have the JBL Northridge series and think they sound quite good in a smaller room. I have the 5 piece set now set up in my bedroom (12' x 15')with the Polk PS450 series subwoofer. Nice overall sound. Had them in my living room initially but I would not reccomend them for a large room...

Shawn, Don't skimp on the sub. ESPECIALLY for HT! It is the one piece of hardware that will truly turn a typical DVD into a theatre experience. Trust me on this. Do yourself a favor and take a look the SVS that Richard mentioned. You won't be disappointed.
