Selling my Yammie 1200. Asking $140+shipping. I live in Chicago-land area (western suburbs). If you are willing to pick up then cost is $120. Link to more 1200 detail is here -> http://www.yamaha.co.jp/english/prod...t/rxv1200.html I believe this to be in excellent condition for its age...
Primarily TV and dvds. TV through Comcast (w/ HD). Budget is relative to value it provides. I would say that Anthem AVM30 and corresponding Anthem amp would be the upper limit. Outlaw combo might be more realistic. Could go used for the amp but don't know if I would go used on the proc...
I currently have Paradigm 20's, CC470, ADP 470, and Servo 15 sub. Receiver is a RXV-1200. Very happy with the speakers. Wondering if I can get a little more out of them with a more current receiver or separates. I'm not as worried about video switching as I connect everything to the TV. Would...
Home Theater Master MX-500 for sale. $40 + shipping. Bought 3/20/2003. Not used for last 6 months though. I consider it in good (or above good) shape. Light for night use does not work. Still has my settings (cannot figure out how to restore factory ones). User Manual included. Batteries not...
I'm having a difficult time understanding the difference between a traditional receiver (such as my Yamaha RXV 1200) and one that has digital amplification (such as the Panasonics). I can't find any article that describes the differences in a way that makes sense. Thanks in advance.
I had the CC370 and upgraded to the Studio CC470. Noticeable difference in my opinion. I asked about the difference between the 470 and 570 and dealer didn't push the 570 at all. I also bought the Studio 20's to replace my Monitor 7's.
Tim, I noticed an immediate difference in the centers. So did wife and she's not into the stuff. If you are debating, ask to bring them home on weekend and try them out. If you don't know, recommend going with the monitors and see if you like them. You can always trade up. You can't trade...
Thinking we go to the same place !! I live in Naperville. I don't know if we can provide store names so I won't. I had the Monitor 7's for a year and upgraded to the Studio 20's, CC470, and corresponding ADPs. I have a Yamaha rxv1200. I could tell a noticeable difference in my house between the...
I originally had the Yamaha RXV1200, CC370, and Monitor 7s. Was very happy with that. Then got a little extra cash and traded in for the Studio 20's and CC470. Very, very happy with that. Wife noticed the difference too. Still have the Yammie 1200. Next purchase will be getting a little more on...
I have the Studio 20's, CC470, ADP 470, and Servo 15. Love em. Take your time mounting the ADPs. They are not light. I found the mounting hardward easy to use.
I am using the Studio 20's in the manner you describe. I wanted to go with the 40's but did not have enough space. I am happy with the sound. I used to have Monitor 7's prior (and not enclosed) and believe the sound to be noticeably better with the 20's. Oh yeah, I wanted to go with the 60's or...
Just make sure you secure the ADP brackets securely (i.e. a stud) and use the template for placement with respect to your wiring. If you need to mount in a corner, like I did, then I can give some advice on how I did it.

I'll start of by stating that I am not an electrician or handy man so please keep that in mind. I have a ceiling light/fan unit in my family room along with the entertainment center. There are times when I switch the fan on to a different speed that I hear a faint, but noticeable, "pop" from...
Have 3 kids and am looking to get a DVD player installed. We have tried the in-the-bag and it doesn't meet our needs so need to go with the overhead dropdown unit. Any recommendations? Also, I'm not a hands-on type of guy so definitely needs install help. Is this a go to Bestbuy/Circuit City...
Thanks for the responses. Currently using system for HT use but that is primarily TV. HD is making its way and watched the SuperBowl and it was awesome. Ranking of use - TV - Music (CD) - Movies (DVD) Its not that I don't like the Monitor's. It just seems like speakers can last a...
I have a little bonus money coming my way, am coming near the end of the speaker upgrade period, and am wondering what to tweek. Current setup is Paradigm Monitor 7v3 CC 370 Stylus 100 (surrounds) PS 1000 Yamaha RXV1200 Thinking of the following 2 options: - Switch Stylus for ADPs...
I've been trying to find out how to wire two rear center surrounds but to no luck. I have a Yamaha RXV1200 and it has output for one surround center speaker. People I've talked with and articles I have read make it seem that using 2 rear surrounds are the way to go. Do I only use one wire and...
