Another film that blew me away the first time I saw it was "The Shining". I thaught it look amazing!! The slow dolly shots throughout the hotel really made those ugly pastel colors from the late 70's stand out. "The Gauntlet" is also one of my favorite OMG moments. It may not rank up...
excellent choice! :emoji_thumbsup: There are so many scenes that stand out. For me it's when they're on the island and they meet Ursula Andress (no need to describe how hot she looks in high-def) but Connery is wearing these blue pants. I couldn't believe how clear they were they literally...
This is a much better deal then the recent HD-DVD sale Picked up: 300 Kingdom Of Heaven The Shining Mr & Mrs Smith The Last Samurai Enter The Dragon Thanks Amazon :emoji_thumbsup:
I just finished watching season 3 on the weekend and I could of sworn a few episodes were meant to be seen in widescreen. The full frame didn't look right imo. I could be wrong. Great show btw :emoji_thumbsup: "Me don't speak E-BONICS sh*thead" Vic Mackey
Amazon.com has a pre-roder price of $138.95. That's very affordable considering the content. Count me in Mr. Spock :emoji_thumbsup: I've only had my A2 player for about six weeks but it looks like I baught it at the right time. HD-DVD choices are really starting to take off Star Trek...
Damn! I thaught the sale was ongoing till Sept 23rd. I missed my chance this time...Hopefully they'll be something else between now and xmas...Guess I'll have to go over to Televison Central and order something there instead. They got the Shield Season 5 for $29.49 YES!! :emoji_thumbsup:
What he said :emoji_thumbsup: It's very hard to go back to a standard dvd once you get a taste of HD. Even older films like Purple Rain & Goodfellas looked great. I will be more selective in my future HD purchases but I don't see myself buying very many standard disc if any from now on! HD...
I'm not sure if you were serious or not but I couldn't disagree more. I never saw a single episode b4 I bought the first season and it's one of the best dvd investments I ever made David E Kelley is one of the best writers in the history of tv period.!! They way he's able to go from dramatic...
I've only had my A2 Toshiba few weeks but I'm really lovin' it so far! I currently own: Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift The Perfect Strom Black Rain Dirty Dozen Goodfellas Purple Rain Hot Fuzz Pre-Ordered: The Wild Bunch Deliverance Inside Man Dawn Of The Dead (2004) Blade...
I already own the sd version and the picture and sound is outstanding as it is. I'm not going to upgrade to hd-dvd if and when it comes out. I'd much rather spend the money on other titles I don't own yet
I recently baught the Toshiba A2 player so I'm slowly starting to stack on HD dvd's. I'M glad I held off buying this SE when it came out last year. My hd-dvd Is currently on back order from Amazon.ca :frowning: I love Prince and I haven't seen this movie in years. I must of played the "Purple...
Thanks for the review. I was planning on getting it for sure but I'm hoping Universal will bundle the three films together in HD around Xmas time so I'm gonna hold off. Is there a good chance?? Cheers!!
I've also just purchased the A2 Toshiba I should be recieving it next week. I can't wait. I figured now was the right time to make the plunge since word of mouth has been mostly positive and more and more titles are being released over the next few months. It also came with 3 free movies so what...
I'm officially an Errol Flynn fan after watching Adventures Of Robin Hood The guy had so much charisma on film This will basically be a blind buy for me not having seen any of his other movies Wraner these great box sets have got to stop ;)
Is that the movie with the giant cockroaches?? If memory serves me right didn't it star Paul Winfield (RIP) and that good kid actor from the Bad News Bears Jackie Earle Haley and come out around 1977?? Wow!That would be really cool since I don't think I've seen it since then??. I was only...
Is it the same transfer?? If so then my reaction is similiar to the towns people when Robert Shaw grates his nails on the chalkboard :) Still one of my all time favorite movies though! :emoji_thumbsup:
Maybe it's me but I wish they'd have gotten someone else to do the commentary as I find Schsiskel a real bore! His commentary for Unforgiven was so dull I couldn't even make it through the end  Great film though!!
I remember the episode "Quarentine" from the first season written by the great David E Kelley
Among his many great scripts for all his shows that is one his all time best :emoji_thumbsup:
Season one seems to be selling very well so far I just hope Warner adds a few more xtras like some commentaries would be nice although I realise most of the people involved in the original are probably deceased
