I am looking for opinions here so please feel free to be biased. What are the advantages/disadvantages of using bookshelf/monitor speakers over tower speakers? I have heard debate on both sides but I was looking for some real peoples experiences.

Thanks Ted- I like the thought of changing power cords to ones of better buid quality. I know that there are opinions on both sides of this as well. And having pimped out my cords my not be such a bad thing.:D

I don't have the Denon but perhaps setting the Denon to the DD mode as it's primary choice in the set up menu. This may be what it needs to triger the DD ex. Just a thougt. And the DVD player should pass the signal through the digutal out.

Marty- I agree with Curtis. Check on this forum and see if there is someone in your area that have some SVS subs and/or some Hsu subs and take a listen. Both subs look great and you will not be disapointed in the amount of performance you can get for under $1K. Dave
