I have done a lot with stainless steel. Yes they are very easy to work with just be carefull not to screw your drywall in to far. Much easier than wood. They also do great with dampening sound from above. Its almost like a sound barrier.

I do not think so. The progressive scan converts the signal. Some HDTVs do that already so you can have progressive scan without it on the dvd.

Here is what I cant figure out. If i take the single line and try it on both subs they both work. If i split it the new sub doesnt. if I switch the split connection from sub a to sub b the new sub still doesnt work. But it works fine without the rca split on it. Is it maybe not...

Your reciever should have inputs on it. run your vcr to like av2 and your dvd player into av1 into your reciver. Now your reciever should have a video out on it. Take that and run it into the av1 input on your tv. make sure your tv is set to av1 on the chanell also
