My viewpoint from the beginning is to fight-the-good-fight and TRY to get these things released in anamorphic. If people decide to buy them if that doesn't transpire, then it's good to let them know how to spend the LEAST amount of money doing so. Since it's been mentioned a few times here...

This is what I've been saying. Most people would've bought 2 versions anyway if it was released in anamorphic on DVD this time because it will eventually show up in an HD release if it sells well. And, like you said, it won't cost $90 for the new release if you take advantage of the FYE...

The studio isn't saying it...GL is. As far as I know, they're still his movies to do with what he wants (which I see as the biggest problem). If buying this release greatly improves my chances of getting a really good quality OT release on HD media, I'm in. If not buying makes the movies go away...
