I don't like the toejam much either. And unfortunately it seems to be on a lot. The worst part is that they don't show artist or song during the toejam. The decades chanels have heavily improved on a whole. So if you haven't heard XM in at least 6 months, you might want to give it another try.

the Audio Authority 1154A suggested above is basically a cheaper alternative to buying a whole new receiver and keeping the video quality. you might want to look into that.

Turning off VSM helped a great ton. Having VSM on is like typing in BOLD instead of normal font. As for black enhancement, I turned it off, the only settings I have is on or off, not sure what BH means. Also with it on or off, I can't see much of any difference with the varying test patterns...
