Thanks for all the input guys. It seems like the Intimus has a higher FR than the SVS and a bit more output at around 60-70 hz, which I kind of need, but would the Intimus get the deeper extension of the 20-39PCi? Like good down to 18-20 hz? I saw the graph on Aperion's site, but I don't know...
Just wondering if anyone here has heard of the Aperion Intimus 12" powered sub, and if it is any good or not. It seems a close rank for the SVS 20-39 PCi, but is a box. Price is the same, so I would appreciate any input anyone has.
I was seriously considering a SVS 20-39 PCi soon and I was just wondering what brands or specific kinds of subwoofer cable you guys recommend. In general and for this sub. Also, except at high volume levels, would I notice a difference between the 20-39 PCi and the PC+?
I got some old HH Scott S196's for $20 a pair. Does anyone know a lot about these speakers, like what years were they good, or were they any good at all? Any info would be nice.
-2 KLH 915B's (am selling to brother soon)
-1 KLH 5050 (am selling to brother soon...deja vu...)
-2 RCA STS-620's (am also selling to brother soon)
-2 Optimus STS 50's (sats for my computer sound)
-1 Optimus Pro SW-14 (12" inch unpowered sub for my computer, it actually isn't too...
My sincerest thanks to you all for your input and help. You too Ron. I believe my descision has been set on the 20-39PCi and even though I doubt I will be dissapointed, I plan on taking advantage (in a good way of course) of the 45 trial time. Take care all!
Hey Ron! Thanks for your info in the email and here. I am flattered to have you actually responding on my posts! I will probably contact you soon about purchasing one (the weight issue leaning me to the 20-39), depending on if my current sub sells and if you guys have any in stock. How long...
Speaking of choices, I have now narrowed the choices down. IT's either the Adire Dharman, or the SVS 20-39 PCi. I had considered the 16-46, but I also emailed the guys at SVS for their recommendations based on my wants and room conditions. We shall see which of the 2 they recommend, but then I...
I personally have no experience putting together a speaker or a sub, and don't think I have the skills needed in doing it myself. I looked at the different subs on acoustic vivions.com and there is quite a variety, even in the finished kits. My current HT room is roughly a 14' cube with 8'...
Yes, boomy. It gives me a headache when it's too strong in the 40-50 hz range for too long, I am really looking (and saying this to really clarify it in my head) for something flatter and more menacing. I don't care about turning my room into a wigger-mobile, I want to know the sound is there...
How would most of you compare the Velodyne CHT-15, UFW-10, Stryke AV15, or SVS 25-30PCi (and SVS has so many choices on the site it's hard to know which is good for ones needs) over the RSW-10 that I already have? Small improvement? big improvement? I know some of this is subjective, but all...
Thanks for all the advice guys! You make me feel like family, (sniff)... Seriously, don't Hsu's need some sort of equalizer or something like that to get the response just right?
My budget is around $800. I know it's not much for a sub that can hit real low, but I was thinking of selling my Klipsch for around $500. That, I am hoping, will cover a little more than half the price of the sub, or perhaps I shall just have to wait. I have also heard NHT was good.
I am by no means an audiophile, but I do have some ear for sound.I currently have a Klipsch RSW-10 (R remember, not K) and am running it on a Sony STR-DA1ES. My main speakers are some old HH Scotts (S196), their last good ones before they went overseas and sold themselves to the devil's bad...
