    Outlaw 950/Atlantic Technology P-2000/Sherbourn PT-7000

I apologize for reviving a 6-month-old thread. Seems like the Outlaw Pre/Pro is the choice based upon price point, unless the extra 10Mhz of bandwidth in the Sherbourn is worth $700? Comments? My question is whether the Sherbourn 7x200W amp for $2850 is the same as the Outlaw 7x200W amp...

Trying to find HDTVs that support 720p input

The Samsung DLP RPTV's are native 720p, and accept 480i, 480p, and 1080i signals. No HDTV tuner integrated. No firewire, but you should be able to buy a STB that has firewire. Price is within your budget.

Samsung DLP Owners - Help Please!

Bruce, Thanks for your reply. Adjustment of the gamma is likely to improve what I described as too much contrast. I have been reluctant to change any of the service menu stuff because I was afraid I might want to return this TV to the store at some point. Sounds like I don't have a choice...

Samsung DLP Owners - Help Please!

I just purchased a new 50" Samsung DLP TV (HLN507W) and am not very pleased with the picture out of the box. The colors are saturated to the point of unrealism (bright green grass, overly red faces) and the contrast is too high. More disappointing is that a lot of the dark scenes are nearly...

    Samsung DLP or Panasonic Plasma?

I had a post the other day about the best option for a living room where ambient light may be a problem. I had pretty much decided on the 42" plasma, but then I went to our local electronics store and saw the Samsung DLP displays. Now I'm really confused because they are very bright and seemed...

    Ambient Light

Thanks for the advice! Based upon what I'm hearing, I think the best solution for me will be the plasma. For less than $3000 the Panasonic TH-42PWD6UY is a great buy, and for my room size/viewing distance I don't need a larger picture. At the moment it's not worth the extra $2000 to go up a...

    Ambient Light

I apologize in advance because I know that this is a "Home Theater" forum, and this is not technically a home theater question. But I know that the best advice is probably here. For my living room, which has "normal" lighting conditions during the day, I want a display that will give me the...

Runco CL-710 in the RAF house (replacing Sony VW10HT)

Robert, Thanks for your detailed response to my question - I very much appreciate your insight and experience. I reply, in particular, to mention that up until now the Pioneer Elite series has been my overwhelming favorite - interesting coincidence, who knows? Anyway, I particularly...

Runco CL-710 in the RAF house (replacing Sony VW10HT)

Robert, I didn't really think that front projectors had as good of a picture as rear projectors until I visited a demo at Epcot in Disney World a couple of weeks ago. They had a HT set up with a Runco projector (I wish I knew which model) that was simply stunning. With my luck it was one of...
