Yah, I think I'll just try a new set of batteries first and see what happens. The thing is, with this remote there are no buttons, the remote looks blank until you pick it up, then the buttons automatically light up and appear, all of them, and stay lit till you set it down. It looks really...
Found this out the hardway. Batteries only lasted me 1 week! I got the kenwood 7080 with the backlit touchzone remote. So Im looking into rechargable batteries. The chargers on ebay range from $7.50 - $40. Does anyone know what to look for in a battery charger?? Will the generic ones do the...
Some DVDs come with the THX display adjustment utility built into it. Whatever they call it. Thats what I used and it helped adjust the picture very well. Johnny
I always had good luck with Samsung. I don't know anything about the models you are lookin at, sorry... but I do have the 42" Samsung RPTV and no problems at all so far. They are very reliable, based on my TV and many people I know who own Samsung Products. Just go for it! They have...
200 seems alot for a DVD player these days. I have a Samsung P421 Progressive scan, you can find them for 100 or less. Awesome picture, quiet, DTS, optical output, and I have NEVER seen a layer change after 3 months of heavy use! Save the money, buy another toy to go with it. Johnny
Not sure exactly what info you are looking for. I have a 42" samsung widescreen and the quality of it is very good. I would trust anything samsung makes. If you dont already have one tho youll WANT to get a progressive scan DVD player to go with it ($100). This forum is a great place for info...
Yah that is a little strange. No, I dont have a meter yet so I just played it by ear. I have a question about the video switching tho, is it impossible to use that with 1 source being component, and the other source being svideo or composite? Seems like it only works if they are all the same...
oh yah, if anyone is interested here is where I found it. There was no TAX and the shipping was like 20 dollars. http://www.gopcplus.com/pcplus/produ...roductID=91016
OK, so this is my non-professional review of the Kenwood VR-70800 Receiver. Couple people here were currious about it. I upgraded from a Sony STR-SL7, so any receiver probably would have impressed me!! The suggested retail of the 7080 is 599, but I found it for 389, plus sold my old receiver...
Looks like you are correct. I tested several DVDs that were suppose to be anamorphic, and found that some actually look normal, they still had bars on top and bottom, but much thinner. Example, U571 and Gattaca looked fine, but ConAir and Titanic look squashed. So is this just a badly...
I am not sure how to fix this, but whenever playing a movie that is 2.35:1 ratio, the top and bottom bars are twice the size they should be, and the image looks like its being squashed from top to bottom. My DVD player is setup for widescreen mode, but all other modes produce the same effect...
you can make your TV Die, temporarily. Then after you buy a new TV sell your old TV on ebay, and tell your wife you took it to the dump. Then take the money you got for the TV and buy yourself something she doesnt know about. Damn, I am good! Johnny
Its over heating. There is probably not much you can do. It will probably cost you more to repair it than to replace it. I would buy a new one. Sorry, John
Its a Samsung DVD P421 Progressive Scan. I dont know much about how it works, but I was told it uses 2 lasers, and thats why there is no layer pause. Anyway, I know I have never seen a layer paus on it, and I ve had it since February. My sony used to pause for about 1.5 seconds. Johnny...
Well, the DVD player does have component (or composit?) whichever is the 3 RGB video cables, and that looks nice, but the SAT receiver only has SVIDEO or component (2 audio, 1 video), so its not a real big deal, its just SAT doesnt look nearly as nice as DVD. Ill probly breakdown and buy a...
I have a 42" Samsung HDTV rear projection TV. There are 2 spots in the upper part of the screen that appear kinda like small shaddows of dust or something. There are not much larger than a finger tip. My question, is this normal? Is this something I can try to clean myself?? Would this be coming...
Its true HDTV. The SAT receiver is not hdtv however. But the dvd player is pro-scan. When i use SVIDEO the picture looks very pixilated. As if the pixels dont disappar fast enought.
one more thing... most of the material that fancy cables use do indeed increase the sound that can get through them, for example, gold plated connectors do conduct better, the PROBLEM is that these frequency's cannot be heard by the human ear. As my electronic professor says it best "Buy...
I have the Samsung Pro-Scan DVD player. Not sure of the model number because I am not at home. Bought it for 130 about 2 months ago. I have NEVER noticed a layer switch yet. Johnny.
I have a samsung HDTV 42" and a samsung sat receiver. when i use s-video it looks horibble, tried 2 cables, one from a PowerBook, another i bought on ebay for like 5 bucks. The picture looks bad when i use the cables with the dvd player to. worse than rca jacks. are these just cheap cables? im...
