Excellent post. I'm glad to see that one of the projectors (mostly) in my price range, the Infocus 7200, is on that list. I think the Sony is in there as well although I'm looking primarily at DLP technology. Really looking forward to seeing it as the BenQ 8700 is another option I'm considering...

This isn't quite part of this thread (and I apologize) but it *is* related to projector shopping in Austin. I went to Ultimate this weekend and all they carry are the Sharp projectors and only three models. They do have the Definitive 7000sc towers (I liked those quite a bit) but...

I'm sorta the same way, Hank. I definitely can't afford the big-boys, and when I see the crazy stuff I tend to "downthink" my own capabilities a bit. I'm also in the mindset of not waiting a year or two based on technology as in a year or two there will be another technology that's even better...
