Quint and Tim Robbin's character seem the closest match to me. They both die. Robbie and Hooper both disappear for a time and return unscathed. Brody and Ray both make it through their respective ordeals.
I used to enjoy watching the trailers in the theater. Now you sit through a half hour of trailers and commercials. It's one of the things that have hurt the theater experience for me and I hope the trend doesn't become any more prevalent on DVD.

Spiderman don't understand why this was so popular either. People must never tire of the coming of age/self discovery story's. That shot of spidey bouncing on the balloons is just awful. Blade Runner given it a couple viewings but nothin' doing. Blazing Saddles didn't care for it yet...
