    Let me be the first (but probably not the last) to recomend the Hitachi set. Hitachi is well known for manufacturing very high quality RPTVs. Sony, although great for direct view, has not really excelled at producing top quality RPTV's. -Sean

    If you read the original post it says that he actually purchased the X1 and then returned it due to being dissapointed with its performance. That seems a little strange since I see a lot of people praising the X1, is it possible that it was just not set up properly? I might be in the market...

    It's true that RPTV's have a 'limited' viewing angle, but the new RP HDTV's are MUCH better in this respect than the projections from a few years ago. Now of course I am talking about horizontal viewing radius, and on my tv I can sit at a 150 degree angle from the tv and still see a decent...
