On your tv the setting are exclusive to every input. So on your TV, while on input 4, set it to widescreen. Also, set your Xbox 360 to 1080i (i have the exact same set up and to me this looks better, but it's personal preference). Hope that helps. OH...also, you have to set the Xbox to...
The major news about this is that even though movies will have an expiration date, TV shows won't. But here's the kicker, yes the 20 GB hard drive won't hold a lot of shows, but you can delete them and Microsoft will remember the shows you have purchased and will let you download them again at...
The more memory a game developer has to work with just means they can be more sloppy in their programing. Also, since the PS3 is more difficult to develop for, the extra space of a Blu-ray is there to help ease this difficulty. The one thing where the extra space will definitely help in is in...
I saw it at Best Buy and was wondering if anyone has tried it out yet? It must have something going for it, there was only one unit left! Also, a lifetime subscription to the tivo like service is only $150 after rebate. but the unit does cost $599! Ouch! Still, anyone use it yet?
I'm looking to pick-up a 42" display too sometime soon. On the plasma side I like the Panasonics, but I'm also looking at LCD's too even though they cost a thousand bucks more. The main reason being that plasma displays still suffer from Burn-in. Network icons, news tickers, and video games will...
I know...their slogan should be... "First there where inflatable women, now we give you inflatable home theater! The life of a man is now complete!" LOLOL!!!
Truth of the matter is that 67% of "wards" (the worst neighborhoods here in Houston), are in fact stealing cable. Time Warner, the provider here, has given up disconnecting cable from these homes. For one, if TW disconnects one home, it's up the very next day if not in a few hours. Two, if they...
Dang Kelly, I guess it's a good thing you get a discount, huh? I've been using this player everyday as soon as I get home from work (except for during Houston Rockets playoff games), I've seen "The Two Towers" & "Return of the King" back to back on Wednesday evening/morning. Not heating up...
I'd say it's still kinda "cheapo" stuff. Although I'd also have to add that it is on the upper end of the "cheapo" stuff. It still is pretty darn light, and the transport is computer quality. But at this price range I'm guessing it's hard to find something built like a tank without sacrificing...
Sorry Rich. I just got the player yesterday. I really wouldn't know. Honestly I don't know much about hacking DVD players anyway. I'm sure someone else here could chime in if it is even possible on this type of player. Again, sorry.
Ok, so I picked this up last night because it was all Best Buy had as far as HDMI players. I had read many poor reviews about the 5960 and 5970, and figured this would be no different. Boy, was I wrong! Now I'm not much for giving detailed reviews (I'd rather spend my time watching movies), but...
Ok, the Toshiba SD-5980 is a pretty damn good player! I've read a ton of complaints about the 5960 and the 5970. I can say that I haven't found any of the same issues with this player. Further more, it looks pretty darn good even with the included HDMI cable that Toshiba gives you!
I just went to my local Tweeter store here in Houston. Customer service was horrible! Like they didn't want to really help me!! Anyhow, they didn't have the Panasonic S97. I went to Best Buy and bought a Toshiba SD-5980. It's the only HDMI DVD player they had. I know, I know, "they suck"...well...
I have a JVC LCD with HDMI input. I'm looking for recomendations for a DVD player. All I really need are brands and model numbers, and I'll do my best to research and see which would best suite my needs. Oh, and just to filter out a few, Sub $300 price tags please! Thanks.
Seems like, for you, the Sony is "Form over Function". If your looking for quality in your set up then that should be close to last on your list. Think about it, as soon as the movie comes on are you going to be looking to see what color your DVD player is? As for deals, you can go to...
Day 1. With a full head of hair, I one day decide I want to make the plunge into HD! So I jump on the net and look for deals. As I type I notice a few strands of hair on my keyboard, I flick them aside as I continue my self taught HD education. Day 2 thru 795. I keep looking for a deal on a...
Unfortunatley no. Besides, I'm having to think now. I'm thinking about getting the new Humax HFA100 OTA tuner and am wondering how I'm going to hook that and a cable tuner to my new display. And eventualy get Dish Network.
I say we all raise our beer glasses and toast the 43% of 1st time married couples that will get divorced this year! May they all purchase GOBS of HT and audio equipment!! And another toast to the lawyers, who's fees are so extraordinary, that these couples need to have firesales and sell...
I just bought a flat panel LCD, from a friend, to stick in my bedroom. All I have in this room is basic cable comming straight from my wall. The TV has a Coax connector on the back, but it doesn't have a cable tuner capabilities. My question is, can I use a cheap Jerrod cable box (ebay for...
You know, I think a divorce is a horrible thing to go through. That said, if you know someone who is getting a divorce you can get a heck of a deal on stuff. Furthermore, if that friend is a "Techno-gadget-whore", then you can really score some amazing things on the cheap! His wife is...
I was wondering if there was a website where I could plop in my zip and it would tell me if and how many HD over the air stations there are in Houston.
Ahh...but I'm an "unspoiled" one. See, I've been viewing all my TV on a 61" Hitachi Standard Def. Projection TV. I can't for the life of me remember the model though. I can say that the picture on it is absolutley stunning for a standard def. And the colors are blissful. I swear, had it not been...
Yes, I understand. For a living room or HT room this make very much sense. But this display would only be for my bedroom where I'm getting rid of my HT equipment and my only sources are going to be an Xbox and standard basic cable. I wanted the Panasonic because it's EDTV and would be a perfect...
Yes, alot! :) The display will go in my bedroom and I truly need a flat panel to free up some room. I will however eventually purchase an LCD RP for my living room sometime this year. There's a 55" Sony Grand Wega on Ebay for about $2,600.00
VCR?? Oh yes, I think I saw one of those at the local museum. :D heehee! Thanks for your reply John. I honestly haven't owned a VCR in over 5 years. I do think however that my mother has an old analog cable box at her house that I think might work. However, after reading the "Master...
I was gonna buy a Panasonic EDTV plasma, but not now. Seems that even with the new technology that helps agains burn-in, burn-in still happens!! I'll play it safe and buy an LCD and sacrifice 7"-11" for the same price. P.S. I play a ton of video games in marathon sessions.
