JimmyK, I think on the contoury there would be more support as both of them are based on the same software platform but the difference is that the D1 has more processing power and other components upgraged. So if there are new features for D1 like DPLIIx..etc; we should see another update...

According to me it should have no relation to firewire, if a hardware upgrade is needed it would be a Firmware chip upgrade that is if the current chip is not big enough in size to fit in DPLIIx (highly unlikely). As for fireware I think there would be some of us who don't need firewire right...

I think it would replace DPLII as DPLIIx would work with 5.1 and 7.1 config. Satyam
