Allocating a limited budget - screen vs sound

Chad, Your assumption on the size vs cash remaining is incorrect :) Going with the 52" would allocate 4K, and be possible for the items you suggested (nice choices BTW) also, since he is from NZ, I honstly do not know if the prices or items you gave would fit the remainder of his budget...

    Z1 and Z2 question

Man, Thats quite a trip. If the cash is not too much of a concern, I'd opt for the Z2, if funds are tight, then you will not be disappointed with the Z1

    Z1 and Z2 question

Ro, Where in TX are you located? If you are located close to SA, your more than welcome for a sneek peek @ my Z1. Again I must say that HD on the Z1 is superb!!! Z2 must be much better

    Final decision. Advice needed.

Thinking of the Sanyo PLV-Z1/Z2 or Panny L300 or X1 For any of the above, you should look into a DIY screen which can be made to your exact dimensions and for less than 100 bux.

    An observation about SVS subs...

Thanks Steve, Its a Z1, not the best blacks, but good enough for me... HDTV is superb. I plan on upgrading to the Z2 middle of next year. The middle chair is for my son, funny how you picked up on that. I traded in the QSC plus $25.00 and got the CPX, definetly overkill, but eventually I plan...

    An observation about SVS subs...

Steve, I ended up getting a Crest CPX2600 (750 X2 @4ohm)at a killer deal, it does have some fan noise but not at all like the QSC had. Only really bothers me with very very quiet SACD and movie passages. I really think that youd be in heaven with a larger amp for your Tempest. You can check...

    Klipsch help

The RF7s are superb, and alot of owners have Denon receivers driving them with no problems. The Klipsch Reference speakers are wonderful because thier so efficient.

    The screen wall

Jared, I would suggest using a black velvet or velveteen on the screen wall. I did the paint route, but ended up with the velveteen and it is awesome. Also would suggest using the same carpeting or black for the stage.
